Apparently we’re also looking at Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen as well. That’s a risk for me, if we go with two young centre halves given we lacked experience and leadership at the back last season.
He is rapid though, as is Forbes apparently, so maybe he’s looking to play with a higher line next season.

Surely we don't sign both.
Even allowing for Esselink departing that would still leave us with
Iovu
Graham
Forbes
Cleall-Harding
Sevelj
Agyei
Dewar
Who could all play CH if needed too.
We desperately need wingers and Strikers.

That one’s been rumoured for a while. There’s Championship and League One teams down south interested too though.

Was about to say exactly the same about needing proper experience at the back. I think Ross Graham is a good player, but if I'm honest, I don't see him as being captain material as he needs to just concentrate on his own game. We need a big, hard, kick his own granny type player in the middle who is a leader and has hundreds of games experience at a good level of football.
Any time I've seen Chilokoa-Mullen he's looked a good solid player, but I just don' know if he is what we need just now.
I feel too much onus is being put on the 'player trading' model and not enough attention is being paid to the must have element of the team, if we want to have a go at winning a cup or getting European football.

Will young Charlie Dewar be here next season? Also i wouldn’t be against big Sam getting loaned to the championship.

Guess as well that sevelj and ageing are dms as opposed to centre backs and might be able to do a job but then it would hurt us in midiflef.... leaves us with
Graham
Forbes
Iovu
Bert (maybe off)
2 young lads who need football.
Agree with whoever said we still need a big jo nonsense, experienced cb. Whether we could have 5 near starting cos, I dont know.
I do think we are going to see more players go out which would increase what we need

Agree with this. I'm not a total dinosaur that is against a bit of data and analytic driven recruitment but I do think when you use that approach you lose a lot of other things. Mentality just isn't something that you can quantify, the quintessential scottish football questions such as: will they go in to a 50/50 against Gogic on a freezing Wednesday night when it's pishing doon in Paisley? Will their bottle go in big matches? Do they have a winning mentality (how many points did we throw away from winning positions last year)?
Many of these sorts of questions you can at least have a decent idea of when you sign a 29 year old who's played 300 games, less so signing a West Ham youth player and a boy with 40 appearances for Dunfermline. Like you've said, the difference is the 29 year old probably can't be sold on for a few quid.

I think we definitely need another right sided centre half. Esselink will be away, Sevelj is only for emergencies, and SCH won’t be first choice, so for me he needs to go on loan for the season to Championship and playe every week.

Ethan Sutherland, a LWB from Wolves linked. Hearts also want him on a permanent but we can only afford a loan
