Rumour that he's about switch International allegiance from Finland to Iraq.
A chance for him to play at the World Cup, if true.

As an aside.
Clubs earn around 15,000 dollars a day from FIFA, for every day they are involved in the World Cup.
Could be a welcome bit of extra income for the club between Naamo and Randall being involved.

Any of the Australian boys going Tek ?

Doesn't look like it.
Sapsford seemed close to Aussie squads back around last Xmas but i'd imagine his 2026 form has killed that chance stone dead.
Only other player who has perhaps a slim chance to sneak into a World Cup squad might be Emmanuel Agyei, but not sure how big a squad Ghana are taking. He must certainly be on their radar, however.

Cheers Tek.
Looked up Randall, Wiki says he's played 9 games for NZ.

Did some digging - Randall, about a month ago v Chile.

Pity Ireland's not going because pretty sure Ferry would have got the call based on recent performances.
On the plus side at least we haven't signed an Australian goalkeeper in the hope of a World Cup windfall.

Do we definitely get the Randall cash? ie is he technically already our player in June?

According to transfermrkt he's contracted to Auckland till June 30th. So, presumably becomes our player on July 1st.
New Zealand could well be out the World Cup by then, so unfortunately that money will probably go to Auckland.

Called up by Ghana for their friendly against Mexico.

Happy for him, he’s been great for us and i really like his attitude. Hopefully he does well and gets called up for the actual event, would be weird seeing him play against England. Good money for the club if he makes it aswell.
Agyei vs Bellingham in a midfield battle, Agyei would have him😆

Although he has indeed been called up, it's essentially a B squad of young players and new caps as it is outside an official international window. So he's probably still some distance from the WC squad, but if he does well you never know.

Yeah, i can see him not even getting a chance on the pitch even if that is also the circumstance. Never know though, hopefully he gets 30 minutes or a half to try and prove himself a worthy candidate.

Away for a scan apparently after he came off injured on Saturday.
What a bloody shame for the lad if it keeps him out of the World Cup.

Dario Naamo not getting called up for Iraq's World Cup squad.
An absolutely despicable way to treat the lad. Gave him 25 minutes against Andorra and now decide he's not going.
Completely fucked with his head, made him miss two weeks of his holiday for nothing and worst of all have made him swap allegiance to their country (when he was perfectly happy representing his birth nation).
I hope he tells them to ram their national team up their arse.
Genuinely feel awful for the poor lad.☹️
P.s. Emmanuel Agyei not called up to Ghana's World Cup squad either, despite supposedly playing well against Mexico.
Unfortunately Utd just lost out on a fair old bit of money.

Yeah totally agree, shambolic way to treat the lad

Missing out on the money is a pity but tbh, I'd rather have both fresh and ready to hit the ground running next season.

Really feel for Dario. Shabby treatment but football can punch you in the gut sometimes.

On a selfish level, yes agreed.
Feel for both lads though, particularly Dario.

It's shite for the laddie, if they had no intention of taking him, why get him to change allegiances? That'll be him burnt his bridges with the Fins now.
However, he had no intention of doing so until Iraq were going to a world cup, he was young enough that he could bided his time and played for the country he represented all all other levels.
It's Demi Moore dropping her scants for Robert Redford but with footballs.

I can understand the temptation for him tbh. There have been some world class players throughout history that never got to play in the world cup finals so you get an opportunity at this level you jump at it.
