Should’ve been in the first team on the last day over Watters.

Started the two games, scored two goals.

It's only under 15 football, but the fact they've picked up on him and he's turning out for our under 19's suggest a fair bit of talent.

I doubt we'll even get to the stage where he signs a professional deal with us, unless his folks tell him to learn his trade, be part of a squad for a few years etc.

He was captain for Scotland under 15's v Italy last month. They must have been impressed with him.

Who are we talking about?

Actually strike that,I just googled it. He'll be in Southampton reserves by next week no doubt, he'd better take his camcorder with him in that case 😂

Been all over x since he scored an overhead kick... scored 2 in 2 games for Italy.

Another one who will be off to a bigger club and we wont see make the first team, I guess.

Its great fun supporting united - i think i'm channeling my inner jim

Someone should tell him about the 2 lads who have just been discarded by the English clubs they joined way too early

Kerr Smith and Brandon Forbes.

Lorenzo has pace to burn but it’s a long way from U15s football to the adult game.

Walton 😂😂😂

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Happy enough with Walton back. Not a great keeper, but reliable and won’t throw the ball in his own net 5 times a season or palm the ball out to the attacker every time someone shoots.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

I can only remember one big mistake from Walton in his two seasons unfortunately for him that was in the derby. We know what we’re getting with Walton, he is a reliable steady keeper which after some of the recent GK disasters has to be a good thing.

It’s also a positive to see that a player is happy to return after working for JG before.

Super Jack Walton signs 3 year deal 😮

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Happy with Walton coming back. Better the devil you know. One bad error in two seasons is good going when you’ve watched Kucherenko, Richards and Maynard Brewer flap about all year. His kicking ain’t great, but we don’t exactly need a keeper that plays out under Goodwin.

Comedy keepers have got us relegated twice in the last decade and cost us the top 6 this year. I’m glad to have somebody that’s solid and reliable and also a great leader between the sticks. Saved the apprehension of wondering if the foreign keeper is a Szamotulski or a Kucherenko.

Happy with this. Solid keeper. If we can get a solid core and have them supporting the riskier players we wont be too far off

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Excellent signing getting Walton back. One bad mistake in two seasons.

Kucherenko and Richards have made more mistakes in 45 mins ffs.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Notice kucherenko got Greek super league goalie of the year.

The Blairgowrie Jim Lauchlan doesn’t help his goalies.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Where are people getting the 'one mistake in two years' stuff? He made a good few errors, and nearly always the same mistake that Richards makes i.e. palming a shot in front of him into a dangerous area.

I'm quite unmoved by this signing. Yes, he's better than most of the recent Goalies we've had, but i also think we could have done better. The clubs philosophy at the moment seems to be 'we could do a lot worse'.

If Birighitti is a 1 and Szamoltulski was a 10 i'd put Walton at say 6.5.

He's not gonna relegate you, but i also don't think he is the type of Keeper who gets us closer to Hearts, Hibs or getting to Cup Finals.

Anyway, he's here now. Good luck to the lad and i truly hope it works out.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Good to get at least a solid dependable enough keeper in nice and early.
Not the best but after some of the clowns we've had in goal for most of the last decade and a bit Walton is welcome back.

Agree, glad to have him back. Every goalkeeper we sign on our budget will have the potential for the odd mistake, even the very best keepers make the odd mistake. If a striker fucks up it gets forgotten if he puts the next one away, but at the opposite end of the pitch its not quite so forgivable.

Welcome home Jack, a solid reliable keeper with nothing to prove at United.

Kucherenko repeatedly punched the ball into his own net, he was diabolical. That Greek league must have dwarves in goal or something

He was nowhere near as flappy as Richards. One mistake in two years is hyperbole, but I don’t remember many absolute howlers other than the Dundee game, maybe there was one more around the same time? Against Hibs I think. But he was solid, and his save percentage was up there with the best in the league.

I just think we’ve been stung too many times in that position in recent years to be getting too adventurous, especially when you’ve got a guy desperate to come back, who you can rely on not to chuck it in his own net every other week, and that by all accounts is well liked in the dressing room, a leader and calming influence, settled in well to the area and coached the academy kids in his spare time. Sometimes it’s better the devil you know.
