Anyone who has watched a bit of UTD this year will agree with that decision .His lack of pace makes him a 5/10 player at best.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Decent player, overshadowed by ferry on the opposite wing. Some terrible injuries whilst here, wish him all the best

Agree, he's been miles off. He's not had the best of luck with injuries so, if he can keep fit, I reckon he'll have better luck somewhere else with a full pre-season under his belt. It was painful watching him trying to keep pace at points this season, putting him up against Daizen Maeda at Tannadice felt particularly cruel.

Glad he got a goal before he went. Was a nice moment for him and the fans and not a bad way to sign off.

All the best. Honest toiler.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

I've seen some fans say his replacement might not be as good.

If that bar is set that low that a sheet of paper can't limbo under it, we might as well fold the club.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Strain was an underwhelming player for us partly due to injury but i thought we were getting the St Mirren version. Good luck to him after that header against Dundee.

Is that "might not be as good" based on the fact they know who his replacement will be or they don't know? 🤔

Big difference there

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Strain being released is the correct decision. He had a bad time with injuries yes, but i always felt he flattered to deceive.

The minute we were linked with Joshua Rawlins i knew his days were numbered.

That said, he seemed a player who was great in the dressing room, loved playing for United and gave his all.

So, i truly wish him well.

P.s. his header against Dundee to seal the Derby win was a great way to bow out. If he only scored one goal for United then that was the one to score.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

A decent but average player when asked to defend in a back 4
Not cut out to be a wing back in a 343 but got selected to play there many times. He's not going to say no is he.

Not a great passer of the ball and crossing was inconsistent but I wish Ryan all the very best for the future. I'll be surprised if he gets an existing Prem Club but could see him at Partick/Livi/Farmers.

Great goal to sign off with......Dee slayer 🧡

On the incoming list........

A new pitch, or according to photos released so far at least some of it

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Brandon Forbes and Kerr Smith both released from Norwich and Villa. I’m sure their agents won’t care but I wonder where they’d be now if they’d stayed here and played first team football for 2/3 years.

Brandon Forbes looked decent in that league cup groups, he’d scored a raker of a free kick as well. With Trapa and Middleton our only two wingers of note, he would’ve got some first team football anyway.

Kerr smith looked a real prospect. 16 years old and strolling it in the derby harkes win and at parkhead. Played centre back and right back in the 8 games he played. He would’ve absolutely kicked on at us and been in a Ross Graham position.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

It’s really sad and frustrating about the lines of Kerr, Forbes, Banks etc.  Another wonderful Brexit benefit.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Fatah and Stephenson only ones i'm sad to see go, but that was inevitable.

Russell staying if he was doing his coaching i'd have been ok with, but he wouldn't be cheap and it's doubtful how much he would or could have played.

Gad I don't have to watch Keresztes fuck up, Watters never be in position, Trapanovski running the ball out of play, or Sibbald running about looking busy as he had no real positional awareness.

Now United, announce some incomings so we can bitch and moan about them before they've even kicked a ball

Richards not being on that list is a worry, unless the rumour that he's going to the sheep is correct of course. In which case its time to get the fucking bubbly out!

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Id take a look at the 2 lads smith and forbes. Depending on how they developed, they might have improved and be useful - but wouldn't take them back if its to block the path of somebody else in their position

Nobody on the released list i'm gutted about. (Luca and fatah aside) Wondered if pappoe had hung about try to win a deal - but evidently not.

Though a couple of the young lads released had a good reputation but perhaps not developing as they need to.

3 signings confirmed already - looks like we need a chunk more. I'd hope we are addressing the balance of young up and comers with some who have been there and done that in the Scottish leagues

Believe he’s chosen Aberdeen over us.

What a shame….

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Be interesting to see if Ivan Dolcek prospers under a new coach.

Overall, no complaints about that list. Would definitely add Richards to it.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

I’m not too fussed about any particular individual, but this is what, three or four years in a row of huge player turnover. It can’t be anything but destabilising. I imagine there are a fair few done deals we’ve not yet heard about, but I hope the general strategy is more like that of the previous two years, focused on mentality, than last year’s, focused on possible resale value.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 26/27

Good to see Goodwin being ruthless with the list of players told there not required. I wouldn’t disagree with any of them. I would have added Richard’s as well
