St.Mirren v United - Sunday 17/5/26 (2PM)

The final match of what has been a deeply disappointing and frustrating season of 'what if's' and 'what could have beens'.

Looks like just to put the cherry on top of this season of dismay, we'll have to do without Will Ferry after his Ireland call up (what a ludicrous date selection for an International match btw).

What would be your XI and formation for the ultimate dead rubber in Paisley?

Adams in goal. Which he should have been on Tuesday.
And as many young fringe players as possible in the starting 11
No one who won't be with us next season.

Attendance 2760

Re: St.Mirren v United - Sunday 17/5/26 (2PM)

I'd imagine St Mirren will be resting players for the play offs given that nothing rests on this result at all. With that in mind I expect us to get royally humped

Re: St.Mirren v United - Sunday 17/5/26 (2PM)

As well as Ferry away on international duty, Agyei is already away with Ghana also.

And the natural two replacements for Ferry (Farrugia and Naamo) are both injured just to compound things.

Gonna be a patchwork United XI on Sunday.

Can Keresztes play Left back ? Have i imagined things or did i read when we signed Dolcek that he'd played LWB previously? Or is there anyone in the Academy who can step-up?

Dolcek played wing back against Hearts early in the season.

As I said earlier though,I expect a very different St Mirren to the one that will line up in the play off. Probably both teams, nothing to play for, will field a lot of youngsters.

..................Adams.......
.........Iovu..Esselink...Graham...
Strain....Sevelj..Camara..Dolcek
.................Eskesen.....
.........Russell..Sapsford...

Subs - Richards, SCH, Watters, Sibbald,
Stirton, Constable, Keresztes,

Think the sub bench will be light.

Our Academy lads are playing a Cup Final at the exact same date and time as the first team, more ludicrous date selections of matches just to make things even more difficult for us to put a XI on the pitch.

Give Ruairidh Adams his long awaited debut, but ensure he has a strong, experienced defence in front of him. I wouldn't play him and Sam Cleall-Harding together. St.Mirren could well play a strong team and us getting hammered does neither any favours. Particularly Adams, given it could be his debut.

Dolcek replaces him then. As long as it’s not KK.

Joke lineup for this match.
Is Goodwin trolling us?

Re: St.Mirren v United - Sunday 17/5/26 (2PM)

Really struggling to get my head around that starting line up. Can't understand why we wouldn't give Adams a game, especially since we had to pull him off loan duty, and I don't think anyone needs or wants a Max Watters swansong.

Re: St.Mirren v United - Sunday 17/5/26 (2PM)

Watters starting ahead of Russell and Stirton is fucking pathetic

If Adams isn’t getting a game today he should just be released as clearly doesn’t have a future.

Pleased that Gilligan is getting a chance but assume that’s purely down to Ferry and Farrugia being unavailable, Naamo struggling with injury and basically no other option.

Offside goal for St Mirren, awful goalkeeping from Richards. Get him gone.

Gtf Goodwin with this stubborn shite. Watters. Why would he choose that? Don’t care if he scores a hat-rick today. Waste of time for everyone.

1-0 United. Nice finish from Sapsford. Against the run of play.

Re: St.Mirren v United - Sunday 17/5/26 (2PM)

Caught in traffic, got home to see 2 minutes plus injury time. Enough of a snapshot to know we are utter shite again. Stats back that up but I'll bow to anyone who's watched the whole game of course. If thats Goodwin trying out stuff and giving youngsters a chance then it just backs up everything I've already said about him. Dominated by another shite team, he hasn't got a fucking clue how to set this side up,get him to fuck! I sincerely hope he fucks off to Celtic

Re: St.Mirren v United - Sunday 17/5/26 (2PM)

If Goodwin wanted to win the game his numerous changes made sure that wasn't going to happen.

Among many negatives I noticed Sibbald taking a corner out of Eskeson's hands and then floating in an easy catch for their keeper.

Camara, wtf has gone wrong with the boy. Sevelj just another shading off of form too.

Very disappointing not to capitalise on our dominance at 1-0

Re: St.Mirren v United - Sunday 17/5/26 (2PM)

How can Goodwin look at the stats after each game and not realise that we are getting dominated in games using his unbendable 3 at the back shitey fucking system? It genuinely boggles the mind that he can't see what the rest of us can see, so that only leaves the other option, that he does see it but is too fucking stubborn to accept that hes got it wrong so he just keeps on going with it right to the death. Today would have been a perfect opportunity to try out a flat back four, it might not have worked at this stage anyway but fuck me just try it man! I really really can't bear another season under this stubborn bastard.

Goodwin has gone wrong with him mate, never been the same player since his comments in the press after he scored that goal.
