Starting XI and formation for Saturday's trip to Ayrshire?
Offline

Same team that started the derby but Russell in for Watters

Terrible record down there, time that changed. Agree with BMT on the team

Anybody even remotely struggling with any sort of injury or knock, don't risk.
In fact, after Sunday, let's play the kids in all remaining games.

We are not guaranteed 7th yet and also I'd rather we tried to win the remaining games. Sure try out a couple of youngsters in the last couple of games maybe but we cannot be just sending the kids out when there are still outcomes to be decided. I'm pretty sure Jim will be wanting to improve his post split record too

I'd bring in Naamo and Russell for Strain and Watters.
................Richards.............
......Iovu..Graham...Keresztes....
Naamo....Sevelj...Agyei...Ferry
..Farrugia...Russell...Sapsford
Subs - Adams, Watters, SCH, Dolcek
Eskesen, Strain, Camara, Sibbald, Stirton

Partly, mostly in jest as the ramifications for others if we did so.

I get what you mean, but for me its absolutely United first and I want us going out to win every time we take the field. Of course if and when 7th is assured then there's no harm in blooding a few youngsters to see what they can offer next season perhaps but thats for our own benefit not anyone else's. Also from a club perspective I'm pretty sure Ogren would rather see Killie go down than the Sheep or the Fun as would Jim I'd imagine so will be going all out for the win on Saturday definitely.

I'm trying to come up with a score for the prediction thread but really have no idea what the outcome will be.
If we turn up I think we probably win it but then there's that rug they play on and The Pundit will definitely have them fired up. 5-5 then.
Will our keeper get battered into the net while VAR looks the other way?

Football without Iovu is nothing. Two horrendous goals.
Offline

Amateur hour at the back for both goals
Also, Watters is a complete waste of a jersey
Offline

It gets worse.
SCH what the f is that????
Offline

Some individual errors but we were getting massively out manned in midfield, clear for anyone to see but he waits until we're 2 down at 60 minutes to change it.
Absolutely terrible from the manager.
Mind you any manager who keeps playing Watters ahead of absolutely anyone else is hard to get behind.

Outstanding today united. Exactly what we wanted.
Pity St Mirren couldn't do the business.
Always next week.

Zero to play for and a chance to give others a chance of reeling the filth over the road into relegation? Job well done today.
I haven't been on here in weeks as i'm not like yourself that spends 24/7 on here but never goes to games.
Oh, which player would you like shot and killed today? You utter clown. Settle yourself right down or i'll ask Tek to put you in your place (AGAIN)

You're the one who needs to settle, am I calling anyone names? No. I'm pointing out a shite post from a poster who only posts when we lose. I doubt Tek will be too interested in that.
Its a 600 mile round trip so a season ticket will be useless to me and 24/7 I hardly think so. But I'll never ever see united getting beaten as a good thing, another area we differ on I guess.

We've never won a League game at Rugby Park in 10 years. That's a poor record.
I ken that Killie are fighting for their lives, but are we no meant to be fighting to retain 7th.
Goodwin says we conceded really soft goals........
We've been dae'in that all Season Jim.

Absolute shite today. In every way. But it's always the bloody same at that ground.
Sick of seeing us always being beyond pathetic at Rugby Park, and also wtf do we always play in our away strip there? Just a wee thing, but it annoys me.
Goodwin has gotten a lot of praise recently and rightly so, only fair that he takes his fair share of criticism for that today, as some of that is on him. Not just the line-up, but also the subs and when they were made.
My player ratings -
Richards 6 - Simply not good enough for United, even as a back-up. Pathetic at their first goal and is nowhere near commanding enough and aggressive enough. Also parried one shot that was easily catchable. Time to move him on.
Naamo 6 - Doesn't do enough for me. Far too quiet and doesn't drive down the wing like Luca (and even Strain to an extent) does.
SCH 5 - I've held off saying this for awhile as he's just a young lad, but i simply don't get the hype surrounding him or the clamour to get him game time. He's never really impressed me. We dropped our best defender for him today. Bizarre from Goodwin. He should have spent the full season at a Dunfermline or an Arbroath in the Championship. We've wasted a full year of his development. Not ready for our first team. That much is clear.
Graham 5 - Just don't think he's good enough for where we want to be. Type of guy we should let go and he ends up at St.Johnstone.
Kerezstes 5 - Back to taking too long on the ball and just switching off too often.
Ferry 7 - Probably our MotM, but it was a low, low bar.
Camara 5 - Should have been subbed off at half time. Hopeless. Lost count of the amount of times he slipped.
Agyei 6 - His first poor game for United. I hope it isn't linked to him wearing his hair up now (i'm wildly superstitious in case you've never noticed before). Looked well off it today.
Farrugia 6 - My opinion of him hasn't changed. He's tidy enough on the ball, but has zero attacking threat really. I know Goodwin likes versatile players but for me he's not good enough to be a starting choice winger and would only be a back-up Wing Back going forward.
Watters 0 - Why does he start every game? Fucking Hell, he's awful. Never seen a 'Striker' who offers less attacking threat. Apart from maybe, Van Der Sande. Goodwin's recruitment record on Strikers is poor. Two of our worst ever have played in back to back seasons.
Sapsford 5 - Wtf has happened to him, seriously? A shadow of the player he was. We've heard every excuse under the Sun i.e. he's not had a good enough rest, he's burnt out, he's homesick, the Scottish Winter has depressed him, the Bondi Beach atrocity affected him. None of that excuses missing the chances he has in the past few weeks. That on top of just how slow and ponderous he is now. It's like watching a different player. It is very frustrating. Has the ability been coached out of him? Maybe, far too much shite about tracking his man and defending from the front filling his head? When he first signed he used to terrify defenders by running directly at them. We haven't seen that now for months. Another player who has shown a huge drop-off in form (Sapsford, Watters, Camara, Dolcek, Keresztes) compared to when they first signed.
Subs -
Russell 6 - What was the point of signing him? Why drag him away from his family in the US just to waste his time like this? He must wonder wtf Goodwin is up to. Yes, i know he had a calf injury but he's been back training for 2/3 weeks now. He should have essentially been given a 5 game trial to see if there was anything left in the tank. As it is we've just wasted his and our own time.
Dolcek 6 - Hasn't scored since last Summer. Hasn't started a game since Spartans in the Cup (where he played well), barely seen since. If i was him i would be knocking Goodwin's office door on Monday morning and demanding i am given a start at Pittodrie. That is if he even cares, he's probably long past the stage where he does.
Sevelj 5 - Can only assume he was carrying a knock, because why else would you drop him when him and Agyei have clicked so effectively.
Stirton 5 - Another waste of time. Brought him away from Airdrie to just give him 5 minutes in a game that was long over as a contest. Wtf is the point? Another player who's had a full year of his development wasted.

We were pish today. That is clear. But that pitch has given Kilmarnock at outrageous advantage for as long as i can remember. They are a horrible wee hun club who have played mostly in the top league on the back of that pitch.
It’s not the same for both teams. It gives them a very clear advantage. Even going back years we wouldn’t play guys like Webster, Wilkie or Reynolds on it. I bet they avoided signing guys with previous knee injuries. What I don’t get is why we seem to be particularly bad on all plastic pitches.
Still like jim. But his overall record signing GK and Strikers is not good at United. That is where the game is won and lost.

Thing is, all the talk seems to be Dolcek is gonna sign another contract. Doesn't make sense at all

You missed Sapsford so I'll rate him instead: 0. Shite yet again.
