As Roger says, we were well in control oe the gehm the day.
Didna particularly enjoy the 1st half, we seemed to gee them a lot oe chances to put bas inta the box, and fowk roond me were nervous as phuck.
When the VAR check was going on fir their goal, the boy in front of me had an alarm going aff on he's Smartwatch sayin his Heart Rate was dangerously high. Thankfully he recovered after it was chapped aff !
Anybody ken what their goal got sawd aff fir ?
When Ferry took that touch, thought to misell, WTF is he dae'in, it's just gonna roll our the by-line. What a stomper when it went in !
Did Murraymints actually hae a touch the ba when he come on ?
MOTM for me Ferry, we Aygei in close 2nd.

One of their defenders had a hold on Ross Grahams shirt and pulled him back sufficiently for it to be a foul, not that he was getting anywhere near the ball right enough but fuck em 🤣

I can’t believe the love in Dundee fans have for Pressley. That’s 3 out of 4 games against them where they’ve looked soft as shite and totally predictable. Goodwin’s absolutely schooled him, and I include the 2-2, that was just a total freak couple minutes that had no reflection on the actual game.
I’m resigned to Ferry going in the summer, he’ll be a huge miss, but he deserves a good move, that’s what he’ll have been sold when coming here in the first place. I really hope we have Agyei on a decent length deal, he’ll not be going unnoticed by bigger teams, he’s the sort of midfielder every team wants.

3-0 in a packed out Tannadice in the sun shine, doesn’t get much better than that.
Thought Dundee were poor especially in the second half and we were lucky to go in 1-0 up at half time. Would really like to see us defend crosses better though.
Just before Will scored his 2nd goal I was wondering if Jim would change it up and go for it or try and see it out but thankfully didn’t come to that.

Only slight disappointment today is not scoring more.
Hope the players can keep this up and end the season with more positive football, goals and wins.
My player ratings -
Richards 6 - Didn't have much to do. Unfortunately he showed (for me) why he should be released at the end of the season with that weak bit of goalkeeping at the end when he spilled the shot right in front of him and was lucky not to be punished. It wasn't and wouldn't really have mattered today at that point in the match, but nonetheless it was a reminder that he has mistakes in him too often.
Ferry 10 - Outstanding. Not just for his two goals (one fortuitous, one outstanding), but also his terrific cross for Strain's goal. He has been exceptional this past month.
Iovu 8 - Excellent today. Brilliant, vital goal line clearance to prevent a certain Dundee equaliser.
Graham 8 - A bit of redemption for our Captain today after last months disaster. Thought he was very solid.
Keresztes 7 - Fairly quiet performance, but never put a foot wrong.
Strain 7 - Happy for him to finally get a United goal. Great header tbf.
Sevelj 6 - Wasn't quite at the races, but gave 100% as per.
Agyei 9 - What a signing he's been. Really bossed the midfield. A talented player who i hope we have tied down for next season.
Sapsford 6 - Still not quite happening with him (for me). Fairly lucky to play the 90.
Watters 5 - Usual anonymous display. For the love of God play Johnny Russell in the next 4 games.
Farrugia 7 - Unlucky with his shot that McCracken tipped on to the post.
Subs -
Russell 6 - No idea why Goodwin gave him so little game time. Hopefully starts next week at Killie.
Dolcek 5 - Too quiet a cameo. I'm still hearing he's signing permanently. Very surprised tbh.
Camara 5 - Never done much.
Naamo - Like the other subs, never contributed much with the time left.
When Richards spilled that shot straight out in front of him it was Naamo that was first to the ball in front of a Dundee player, so he did prevent a certain goal and contribute to our clean sheet.
Disagree with Strain getting a higher rating than Svelj, who despite being less than 100% was still effective. Other than his well taken goal I thought Strain was very poor, especially in the first half where he continually gave possession away.
Harsh judgement on Dolcek who played a couple of clever passes. He's a player that needs minutes to find his place in the side, not just being thrown on as a random sub when our shape has been changed. Would like to see him and Naamo getting the remaining games if only because they are players who can pass a ball to a Tangerine shirt.
Opinions eh?
I didn't realise it was Naamo who made the interception after Richards spilled the ball, so yes, i will give him credit for that. Other than that, he was pretty quiet however.
Stick by my other opinions on the players performances though. Particularly Dolcek, who for a player of his ability has to want on the ball much, much more than he seemingly does.

It struck me earlier that every time we make a 'big signing' they invariably disappoint (Alex Mathie, Lee Miller, Stevie Crawford, Russell Latapy, Arnar Gunnlaugsson, etc etc). Was talking about this with my Son.
Yet, when we make seemingly 'underwhelming' signings from the likes of Cowdenbeath, Berwick, Queens Park or in this case Ashdod of Israel, the signings often surprisingly turn out the best.
Perhaps it's because the expectancy level is much less given the players are unknown or maybe it's because these players from lowly clubs have to prove themselves still and are hungrier. It's an interesting debate.
I think United have and always should be a club where you make your name. It doesn't seem to work in the opposite regard i.e. no established player we've ever signed has ever really had an outstanding period of their career with us.

As you say, opinions. You'll probably turn out to be right about Dolcek and Naamo, I'm just defending them because of their lack of minutes. And in Dolceks casecwhat we saw early on in the season.
Also they've not been trusted by the manager and they know that.
Foreign players especially need to be told they're loved and trusted, not sure that's in Goodwin's DNA although he's obviously told Iovu and Keresztes of his trust and undying admiration for them despite regular arse collapse moments!
The addition of Agyei though and him getting up to speed has been great to watch. It's made such a positive impact on our midfield.

I haven't made any final conclusions about their over all ability or usefulness to United as yet tbh, Redford.
Dolcek clearly has something and i completely agree with you that he's not had anywhere near enough minutes in recent months to really judge him, but i have been a little disappointed that a lot of his cameos have been so quiet. I'd genuinely love him to smash one in and show Goodwin that he deserves more minutes. As it is, i'm hearing that he is signing a permanent deal at Utd which is very surprising. So, maybe Goodwin does see him as someone worth persevering with, but that makes it all the more bizarre why he hasn't played him more. It seems strange given our (supposed) conservative budget to spend a fee on someone we haven't really played, but i'm guessing it will be similar to Iovu's i.e. mostly performance based and/or sell-on percentages.
Naamo, hasn't shown much for me, but he is still young, hasn't played much and also is about to possibly play in the World Cup, an amazing experience for any player. Interested to see how he fairs next season, but first and foremost i think he needs a couple of starts before the seasons out, so we can see more from him and assess if we can trust him going forward in the short term. His 30k fee will already be now paid off (and then some) due to his World Cup involvement. So, anything he offers now subsequently is therefore a happy bonus.

It was disallowed for hand ball by the big defender that had the 2nd attempt apparently.

I read on the BBC site that’s the first time 2014 that we have won four in a row at home.
Things were not looking good at Christmas but for one of the few times I can remember Winter window signings Ageyi and to a lesser extent Farrugia have made us a better team.

Think that’s our best league win of the season? Good performance. Got a wee bit of luck in first half but we had been better team and had also hit the post by that point.
Hopefully put to bed all this rubbish about Goodwin’s post split results as well.
Wiki saying Aygei contracted to 2029. Be great if that is true. Someone to build a midfield around for a few years.

Ronnie on the Dode Fox was saying that despite the commentary saying it was for a pull on Grahams shirt, the real reason was handball by Koumetio as he fell over in our box just before the ball was stuck in the back of the net. No idea if that's true or a Dode Fox fact.

It was close on a couple of occasions though and his lack of speed played a part in him getting booked.

I thought he was really poor first half tbh and yep his lack of pace definitely cost him a booking. But fair dos to him for getting his goal and enjoying every moment.

Wasn't sure where to put this so I'll put it here.
Manny Agyei.
When he was signed in February, United didn't announce the length of contract.
A few people said that was a bit odd. We usually do.
Today on the Twa Teams podcast Alan Temple was asked that question and Temple's answer was very vague indeed. He eventually said something along the lines of United fans don't need to worry because he's definitely here til the end of next season. Which seems to indicate that Temple doesn't know. Now he would definitely have asked the club the length of his contract but hasn't been able to get a definite answer. Why?
Wikipedia - who writes Wikipedia - list him as signed until June 2029. That would also raise the question why have we given a 3 year+ contract to an unproven player when we almost always give 2 years with a further 1 year option? Who can solve the Manny Agyei contract mystery?
Hopefully it is 2029 because the lad looks a real discovery.

If it’s 2028 or 2029, i’ll throughly applaud the recruitment team. If it’s 2027, let’s get another year added to it.
I was reading the dark blues forum for a wee chuckle. After every game we do them, at least 70 posts include how “average” a side we are. Bet they’d love to be this average a team.

I actually had a peek on Dee Mad myself, its very hard to find a football thread on there tbh. Just a load of racist shite and stories about rape, apart from obviously wanting rid of Elvis and how shite our pitch was. Oh and lots about golf 🤣

Loved it.
Dark Blues Forum stretches the facts well beyond reality and there's never any pushback.
Reasons because....
* it's a tattie heap
* you can't play decent football on that
* they are bang average
* they are rotten
* they are a pub team
* VAR cheated us
* they are hammer throwers
* they are thugs (whaaaat?)
* the ref was biased
* VAR team were biased
* Pressley chose the wrong team
* Pressley didn't change it at half time
* the keeper threw the game
* they foul all the time to break up play
* Agyei is decent
The reality they're not mentioning is that we destroyed them without Fatah and Stephenson. It really wasn't difficult. We played some very decent football.
Will definitely drop by that Forum occasionally when I need a laugh.
