Sad news that Jim McLean and Ivan Golac's former Assistant Manager, Gordon Wallace has passed away at the age of 82.
Older Arabs will remember him well, as a coach and even as a Striker of real reputation. So much so that he actually held the record for number of goals scored in the Scottish Leagues (264) until many years later that record was finally surpassed by Ally McCoist.
He was also Dundee's Manager for a short time and again, a player of real substance for them also. I expect the minutes silence to be observed impeccably tomorrow.
Thanks for everything, Gordon. Particularly that sunny day at Hampden in May '94. Where for one day, the World felt just perfect.
May he RIP.

Would like to think both clubs will do something tomorrow for him.

Gordon Wallace scoring the winner at Ibrox in a sensational 3-2 comeback win in 1977.
Many aulder Arabs have acknowledged this result was one that really catapulted United on to becoming a serious threat to everyone.

He did his best work at Dens but still had an eye for a goal when he crossed to the right side of the street.

Aye. Heard this via some of his family. His wife and my old dear worked the gither for years.
I recall him getting my old man autographs of all the squad at some point. Gentleman.
RIP.
