Dreading this Derby. Can only hope the players put in a rare performance and give us something to salvage from this utterly depressing season.
If we lose, then that's 4 defeats in the last 5 Dundee Derbies. That alone would be a sackable offence.
What would be your formation and starting XI?

Won't happen of course, and even if it does its too little too late as far as I'm concerned.

At the stage where I don't really care if we win or lose.

I'm close, I really am. If it was anyone else we were playing next I honestly wouldn't give a fuck.

Same as v St Mirren, but Ferry in for Faruggia.
They're on a run of 8 points from 12, but its also 8 from 15, the same as us.
And we've had a much more punishing schedule.
I think some are reading more than there is into their Well result, only goals matter, but they were battered and scored with their only 2 efforts on target
If we hadn't decided to stop doing what we'd managed no bother all game v Kilmarnock, until the last 10 mins, I doubt many would be panicking.

I don't know that many people are panicking exactly, but a lot are just absolutely fed up with the fare on offer. Disillusioned, disgruntled, disappointed but probably not panic stricken. Well not yet at least

This is a very important match for the club, for Goodwin and for the mood of the support.
History tells us that he can't (or won't) get players individually and collectively fired up.
That's a real concern. I also have to question if some of the foreign players really understand what it means.
But history also tells us form is not always a good indication of who ends up winning.
As to the team, you don't stop crosses easily with a back 3 and wing backs asked to play high.
You stop crosses with full backs doing their job in a back 4.
Have you learned anything Mr Goodwin? Anything at all?

Just seen a lot of dread, fear, quaking posts re the game.
Maybe social media is just folk over-exaggerating for effect, but the season is burst, there's no consequences left, we won't be relegated or face a play off.
Of course I want us to win, I'll be annoyed if we lose, but if we finish above them or vice versa i won't be celebrating that as an achievement, or giving them credit for finishing above us given what we've served up.
As you say we're all fed up, its all a bit pish at the moment.
I'd be happy to toss a coin on our remaining games and be done with it all.

For me the dread in this game isn't that i think Dundee are necessarily better than United (though they may well be), it's more that Dundee have beaten us in 3 of the past 4 Derbies under both Tony Docherty and Steven Pressley, and in those games looked so much more up for it from the first whistle than we did (particularly the Tannadice games).
The same can't happen again on Sunday or the anger amongst our support will be entirely justified.
Losing is one thing, we can all accept that in isolation even in Derbies. Not being 'up for it' though is something that angers every single supporter.

Yeah, I'd also be ok with Stephenson and Sevelj swapping places but that right now has to be our strongest team and best chance of winning in my opinion. If only Jim saw it that way.

I mind reading a Dundee fan’s post a while back saying he’s never seen them really hammer us (like 6-2 for example). I have a fear that this may well be the time it happens. They play with two wingers on the front foot and will destroy that back three if Goodwin doesn’t change it.

Please don’t glorify finishing above Dundee as some sort of success. It’s tinpot as fuck. The club would also use it as a season ticket sales pitch.
This bragging rights when you’re both in the bottom 6 means nothing. Imagine slagging your Dundee supporting work colleague for United finishing 7th and they finish 8th. Embarrassing.

Bragging rights, no definitely not.
Finishing above your rivals definitely yes because their fans get cocky at the slightest hint of success and they see finishing above us as Trophy level success.

I dont think anyone has said that in this thread at all tbh, they've talked about beating them in the derby but no mention of who's finishing where as far as I can see.

That’s the reason they’ve not been to hampden for 23 years or won a real trophy in 50 years or whatever it is.

Ah right got you. I totally agree btw, this season has been a failure. Especially when you see the semi final line-up and St Mirren with a trophy in the cabinet already. Massive under achievement this season.

Never been so underwhelmed as i am right now the night before a derby. No nerves or anything, just the expectation of 3-4-3 and the inevitable defeat that follows.
Hope i am wrong but just can’t see it.
