If that's true then I can only assume there's been a falling out.

Because wtf would you leave yourself with only Sapsford and Watters?

Unless you're a complete imbecile.

Maybe trying to make a point to the board that we need strengthened up front

That's not acceptable for the captain of UTD.
A dreadful example for the rest of the team.

Someone who was sitting near this said the fan was screaming abuse at him in a silent GF. If i was gonna be screaming abuse at anyone last night it would’ve been Goodwin. 3-4-3 to 3-5-2.

Goodwin had no interest in winning that last night, all he cared about was not losing. One point does us no good.

A bit late for that now.

Completely disagree.  If you are going to shout abuse at players especially your own, and they give you it back then man the fuck up and shut the fuck up.   Its ok to shout abuse at another human being and they just have to accept it because they are a football player?

Ferry made a mess of a few crosses last night but how can anybody watch this team and not see his is trying his hardest is beyond me.

Re: Utd vs Aberdeen - Tuesday 24th February (7.45PM)

Yup, Punting him to Airdrie if we still had another option would be kinda understandable, but now? Crazy, regardless of whether he's ready or not, he's an option.

Maybe Goodwin himself has had enough, if this is a fuck you to Ogren/The board then it's a parting shot, rather than a take stock of the situation thing, but at the end of the day, no matter what market we're shopping in, what position we sign, he's signs off on them all.

We're overloaded with players in certain areas, but woefully short in others, that's on him.

"Don't F*cking ever offer me that again!"

Spot on.

Ferry is frustrated as anyone, plays with his heart on his sleeve, he’s the least of our worries.

.

Goodwin said himself just a few days back that we wouldn't be looking to sign an out of contract Striker and used the defence that he planned to play Stirton a lot more in the coming games.

He is then completely omitted from the next two match day squads post Spartans (where the criticism of him has been wildly ott imo).

Either there has been a falling-out or he's injured, but i noticed he hasn't been asked about him in either subsequent pre-match presser (usually a good indicator that the journos or Yannis know something we don't).

Either way, what a complete shambles.

Another thing that shows how bad the game was, was the 2mins injury time at the end. How often does that happen these days?

If Stirton is at Airdrie then he can be recalled at any time is my understanding of the situation.

Rubbish

If the fan can give it out he can take it

I'm not concerned about the how the fan feels are getting shouted at.

It's what's next. If its OK for the captain to tell a paying punter to fuck off is it OK for example if Fans favourite Watters does the same if JG tells tells a fan to fuck off the usual suspects would be foaming at the mouth on here. Its the start of a very slippery slope.

That is correct, but some feel (myself included) that i'd rather have him in United's match day squad rather than Airdrie's.

Given how barren our striking options are.

Watters has 'clocked off' mentally and in 8 weeks or so when he's back in Barnsley, Dundee United will be an afterthought.

I'd rather give Owen game time for us now and develop him and let him know what it is to play for United. Let him learn to deal with the expectancy.

Re: Utd vs Aberdeen - Tuesday 24th February (7.45PM)

Ferry has been at it all season, but he seemed particularly raging last night.

If we've put Stirton to Airdrie, even if we can haul him back whenever we want, that's wild. It's not as if he's fourth or fifth choice to starts, he's literally all we've got if Watters or Sapsford are injured. Are we are relying on Fatah for goals?

For all Graham's faults in the Killie game, Goodwin seemed to forget that he has also been racking up scrappy goals for us and that's exactly what we needed in the dying minutes last night.

I don't think it's a slippery slope at all and inclined to agree with other posters. If folk give it out, then they have to take it back. If JG or Watters took abuse off folk, I wouldn't bat an eylid if they told whoever it was to GTF.

Just have to hope they use it as motivation in the next game, everyone loves proving folk wrong don't they?

It's a strange situation. All of a sudden Stirton's dropped from the last 2 match day squads then makes his debut for Airdrieonians through the co-op agreement despite being part of it for some time. Even stranger when the other 2 strikers are miles off the best we've seen of them.

Fucking wild!

We are about to play 3 matches in 6 days and now he decides is the time to let him play for Airdrie.

Absolute fucking braindead stuff. I despair.

Surely to fuck he must have something up his sleeve regarding an out of contract striker? Otherwise it's pure managerial madness to be going with only Sapsford and Watters who are both hopelessly out of form and possibly fitness.

And yet he continues to play a Barnsley loan player who is away in May and is already 'away' mentally.

Three of those players you mentioned (Eskesen, Naamo and Farrugia) all contracted to us for between 1-2 years. So, here for the long term, supposedly.

Dolcek still our 3rd top scorer despite barely kicking a ball since October.

Owen Stirton and Bert Esselink nowhere to be seen despite the fact we are about to play 3 huge games in 6 days.

The man is backing himself into a corner by narrowing his own options. Terrible 'man management'.

Be very interesting to see if Ross Graham plays on Saturday btw.

Selections + slow for Jim to axe players not working out+tardy substitutions mean that quality players worth a starting spot result in us having quality players never being allowed to play as a unit

Edit: Tbf x 2 Ferry saying on BBC playing on that pitch a farce. He's not wrong

Stirton should be very capable of doing well in the Championship.
Some goals and exposure for him to try and make Ogren a quick buck is all that will matter. Fuck DUFC needing a striker, not a priority atm.
He'll be at Norwich youth team in no time.
Meanwhile Goodwin will do his nodding dog I'm happy with the squad I've got spiel.
