McGlynn and Falkirk are a good fit at the moment, I can’t help but feel a move away from them would be a big mistake, just a gut feeling that he would flop at a bigger more expected club.

I'm not really sure what United can offer him that Falkirk can't, to be honest. They seem a lot more stable at the moment. Also he flopped badly at Hearts when he managed a so called bigger team.

That was a long long time ago. He’s a completely different manager now. He used to just be the bog-standard Scottish football hoofball type manager (Goodwin basically), then he went to Celtic as a scout, and Brendan Rodgers totally changed his outlook on the game, and since then his philosophy has been to get teams playing actual football.

Falkirk are the team that have come to Tannadice and impressed me the most this season. They got in our faces from minute one and played us off the park. That was the game that made me realise how weak-minded this group of players is, cause they rolled over and got their bellies tickled that day.

And being honest, taking aside stuff that happened 50 years ago, are we that much bigger than Falkirk in 2026? In historical terms yes, but in terms of expectations from the owner and the gas we’re not. If we were, Goodwin would be sacked by now. At the very least he’d be under serious pressure from the stands and would be getting pelters on matchdays for the shite he’s served up, as would Ogren and the board. Instead everyone just accepts it, and comes out with shite about it only being our second season back.

The last decade has done incredible damage to this football club, and the fans. We’re just a run-of-the mill mid table Scottish club in now, no different to Falkirk or Dundee or Kilmarnock. Mediocrity’s long since set in and deemed acceptable by the fans.

Agree with above. If we could get Mglynn I would be happy, but why would he come ?

Askou is fantasy land.

We have been run into the ground. We have huge debt. An owner that isn’t interested and will not put more money in. And a fanbase that expects us to compete for 4th every year.

Overall I think Goodwin is doing ok based on that. The style of football and his refusal to give young Scottish guys a chance are what really piss me off.

Tam Courts - a man with no qualifications or background to get the United job. Has done nothing since United. He did very well at United. That taught me that all managers jobs are a lottery and even if we got Askou somehow, he could very well be a disaster.

Iovu kept Calvin Miller really quiet in the last Falkirk game.

He's been mostly shite, can't tackle and is a walking yellow or red card. You can make a fortune backing him to get booked.

Yeah,dont actually agree with you there tbh. Falkirk fans do not have the same expectations as United fans have and the pressure on a Falkirk manager is totally different to the pressure on a United manager. McGlynn has failed when expectations were upon him before.

I think McGlynn & Falkirk will falter next season. They have 8 loan players, and will head into the ‘2nd season back’ needing a bit of an overhaul. Like us & Dundee previously.

United & McGlynn is a non starter and rightly so.

My pick was Robinson who has taken St Mirren as far as he can imo. Perhaps found out recently, but what if he got us a few top 6 finishes and a trophy? You’d take that

Who knows. One thing I am sure of is Goodwins time sadly is up.
