The defending from all 3 of they centre halves last night is nothing short of embarrassing
KK needs dropped, he’s a total liability and just not very good , Graham for the 2nd and 3rd goals is criminal- 2nd goal the goalkeeper ffs as well
I think there will be changes Saturday

Maybe the keeper should come / do better at the 2nd, but that area is so crowded, you'd expect your defenders to get on the end of that, so I personally wouldnt be so harsh on him here.
Giving away a needless foul in the first place is where it starts though.

Jim in the paper saying we can’t defend like that and be successful !
The Hibs boy got a free header to score the 3rd ffs.

3 wins in 19.
1 clean sheet in 19.
40 goals conceded in 24 games.
Yet there was a poster on the hearts thread saying you can’t blame the 3-4-3.
Just leave Jim. Before you relegate us a second time.

Is he just realising that now? We’ve defended like that all season. There come’s a point where I stop believing it’s something that can be rectified on the training pitch. It’s because the players you brought in, in the summer are shite Jim, simple as that.

If only he had a transfer window to allow him to try and bring in a player or two to try and resolve that issue.

Nobody who was there last night can blame the loss on 343. Assume you weren't there or had your 'hate Goodwin' blinkers on. The formation worked well and we were the better team for long spells of the game.
I'll give you the Hibs set up plays into that formation but it worked fine last night.
We lost that game due to a KK error (coupled with an unfortunate deflection) and a total inability to defend decent set piece deliveries into the box.
Goodwin absolutely needs to take some of the blame for that given its been an issue all season and he seems to have turned KK from a prospect into player wholly lacking confidence, but to blame the system for last night is well wide of the mark.
If we had a forward as good as HIbs options, we would have won that game comfortably. It just wasn't happening for Sapsford, but he absolutely should have scored with the header. Moller is however a waste of a shirt. Watters (who is also limited) did more in his short time on the pitch than Moller did (even ignoring the goal). Moller is shit and Owen should be ahead of him.

I do think it is a coaching thing to be fair. However, if you look at our goals last night, it's not just us who are struggling to find defenders that know how to head a ball. The fact that Hearts have two in Findlay and Halkett means it is no surprise to me that they are top of the league.
Oh what I'd give for a Paul Hegarty...

Yes I was there last night, and you should have heard our bus when the lineup/formation was revealed. Utterly tragic.
The 3-4-3 and the man who picks who deploys it has us on the brink. Not sure if you are aware. It doesn’t work.
Ditch the 3-4-3! It DOESN’T WORK

I'd agree that using it for every game doesn't work, but it absolutely did work last night. The fact that it didn't get the right result was not down to the formation.
For what it is worth I also was expecting the worst when I saw the line up and formation as it is undoubtedly an issue, but it DID WORK last night.
We were away to a team that will finish top six and has a bigger budget than us. Over the piece we were the better team (admitted by seveal Hibees I've spoken to this morning) and that was playing the 343. We were also missing our two arguably best players. It is a results business though and the pressure is rightly piling on. I don't see Jim turning this around and I fear that what comes next is a massive gamble given the idiots currently running the club.

In fairness to him in that front, I don’t think Ogren gave him any money to spend in January. Still Goodwin’s fault that we’re in a position where half the squad needs replaced in the first place, but I don’t think there was much he could do in January

The Ogren/Asghar dream team has resulted in us having to shop in the bargain basement bucket. I actually think we have unearthed some gems. For me the defensive issues are a mixture of a lack of a leader on the pitch and poor coaching, but the reality is any of our recruitment is going to be a gamble and some of it has inevitably been poor. The lack of a real threat upfront is the main issue. A Sam Dalby in this team would sort a lot of the issues.
We played some good stuff last night, but the lad Moller must train on his own as he seems to have no idea how to play with the rest of the squad.

I didn’t think we were that bad last night but you could definitely see that Hibs bigger budget means they can sign better qaulity and it eventually paid off.

Moller doesn't win the ball, can't hold the ball in and can't read a pass from any of the other players, Sapsford is completely ineffectual when Moller plays because he he nobody to link with, how many times did he pass to Moller only to find out he had not made a run and was nowhere near where he should have been. I know it's a lot to put on his plate but at the moment Stirton is far an away the best option at centre forward, he wins his fair share of headers, is very good at holding the ball in and either bringing other players into the game or drawing a foul, or making intelligent runs, no contrast between him and Moller, how many fouls has Moller won?

My issue with 3 at the back is simply down to the fact that we can't defend so why not have that extra guy further forward to help out the midfield? 3 CBs are not keeping the ball out of the net so why the persistence with it? Pick your best two and go with a three man midfield, defend from the front instead. Maybe if we'd only had two CBs last night, one of them wouldn't have been stood right in front of the goalie and costing us that first goal?

One of the consequences of 343 played with two midfielders, Sibbald and Stephenson last night, leaves us under manned against most opponents.
The result of it is often that players are rushing around desperately trying to win the ball back. In turn that results in ill timed challenges which are given as fouls against us in our own half.
