Pappoe, Watters and Dolcek loans hopefully cut & Kucherenko loaned or punted. The first is unlucky, he looked a good player. The middle two are a pair of lazy uninterested wasters. Kucherenko just needs to be moved on imo.
Striker, attacking mid and goalkeeper in.
Three loan spaces created so get Lyall Cameron and Craig Gordon (or Zander Clark) in on loan. Find a striker that can score 5-6 goals before the end of the season that can put us towards the top 6.
I just dont get the hate for Watters tbh, I think he brings something to the table. He's already shown he can find the net and just needs to get fully fit and stay that way. Having said that,he's only on loan so it's not the end of the world if he doesn't work out I suppose. I've no idea what's happened with Dolcek though,it's baffling.
You're willing to die on that Watters hill 😄
I'm the author of the #Haddie 2 but in his defence I would say he looks a different player from the one that scored against Rapid and Falkirk. Looks either out of condition or unfit and either of those should be keeping him out of the team until the issue is resolved.
I think a goal would do him wonders right now, I also think that could be true with Moller who has shown some nice touches and does have some ability. I've seen some terrible players at United but I wouldn't put these two in that bracket just yet.

Dolcek is looking like Babunski 2.0

I really liked the look of Watters in the summer, looked like a proper target man. Since his return he looks a different player.

Stirton going out on loan and striker close to signing is what I heard last night.
If striker signed will he be involved tomorrow?

Priorities, in order for me, not just based on yesterday but the first half season as a whole are;
1. A striker capable of leading the line in his own. Watters looked great in the role at the start of the season, but he’s come back looking unfit, unmotivated and petulant. Moller’s awful and Stirton isn’t ready to be our first choice striker yet. Sapsford should play there till we get someone in.
2. A central midfielder capable of controlling the tempo of games, and playing those line breaking passes, particularly against the so called lesser teams in the league, who we’ve really struggled to impose ourselves against and break down. Would be very lucky to get someone who can do both to a high level in this window, unless there’s a gem abroad we can unearth.
3. Goalkeeper - Goes without saying. Kucherenko has too many flaws and creates nervousness in an already shaky back line. And it’s quite clear why Richards has been a number 2 for most of his career.
4. Centre Half - I don’t think the individual centre halves we have are absolutely awful, though maybe Bert is edging himself into that category. I believe there is a combination of them, whether in a back 3 or possibly a change of shape to a 4 that would see us out okay for the most part till the end of the season. I wouldn’t be against getting an older head that can organise and show more aggression though. Basically what Gallagher did for us the last few years.
5. Winger - If we don’t get a striker, then we should bring in a better winger if we can, and play Sapsford through the middle. Dolcek’s a waster & Trapanovski’s too inconsistent.

All of this won't be addressed this month, absolutely no chance. If it is, it will be with players who can't get a game anywhere else and will be worse than what we have already. Throw all our eggs into the goalkeeper basket and hopefully get one that won't fucking drop them! Goodwin has to change his ways for any of this to work though.

Rumour that Goodwin and Capuano have fallen out over budgets. Luigi seemingly wanting Barry Ferguson in as manager 😂

Heard the same and someone else on here mentioned it the other day.
Surely it won't happen until we sign a new Striker though.

Hopefully a load of shite, however, I used to work wi a quiet boy who played under Ferguson during his stints in the lower leagues. I asked him about Ferguson years ago and he wouldn't hear a bad word against him
To quote words were "Absolutely great guy, really good to the boys but tactically not very good. For a boy that played at the level he did at club and International level we expected a lot more. Really nice guy, but no the best manager."

The likelihood would be that you would get Ferguson along with Billy Dodds and the all-knowing tactical oracle: Neil McCann.

Kucherencko going to be sold to Greek club Panetolikos.
So, writes Alan Temple.

Best of luck to the lad. I like him, but I couldn't see him coming back after those howlers.

Respect Goodwin/the club moving on from Kucherenko quickly, and likely bringing in Alnwick as soon as possible. After poor recruitment in this position essentially costing two relegation, credit where it's due for correcting it as quick as was possible.
Hopefully Dolcek can be returned back to his club alongside Watters next and we can get replacements in those positions alongside another CM and it'd be a decent window IMO.
Don't think we need to sign CBs to fix the issues at the back, just keep Graham fit and gie SCH a game!

The person that told me after the derby that Kucherenko was seemingly off to Greece also said that the Alnwick deal isn’t nearly as close as folk have made out.

I think the move is a good one for both parties.
Regarding Watters and Dolcek. I don't understand why people think us cutting short their loans is going to be straight forward. We have signed them on a year long loan. We can't just end it because we want to, unless there is a clause inserted into the deal that allows us to do that.
Also wondering why so many people think that Jak Alnwick is potentially our saviour when it looks like he hasn't played since February last year due to injury and 'personal reasons'*.
The pool of available goalkeepers is going to be limited in January, so it pretty certain that only keepers of a certain ability will be available and not all of them will be in our price range.
*according to wikipedia.

Zander Clark seems to just tick a lot of boxes

Heard at the game that Cardiff want a fee in the region of 50K for Alnwick.

Alnwick only resumed training last week, big risk not played any minutes and not had a lot of training not what we meed at the moment, if JG wants him as his number 1 then tie him down on a pre contract and let him build fitness etc back up until the summer.
I like the stirton(loan) + cash for hale rumour he would be a great addition but knowing us it’ll be another Alex Nicholls we bring in last day of the transfer window.

Not wanted by Hearts but they want at least 75% of his 3.5K a week wages paid if it’s a loan. Hearts happy to let go on a free but Clark doesn’t want to leave unless he gets a similar weekly wage.

In the summer it was gonna be Fotheringham plus cash. I’m sure they wanted 400K for him, not sure we’d even pay a quarter of that. He’d be a very good signing though.

I liked him also. Very good keeper with one flaw unfortunately. Still not sure it couldn’t be coached out of him by a decent coach.
