Aberdeen Vs Dundee United - Saturday 27th December (5.45PM)

Starting XI and formation for Saturday's trip North?

Re: Aberdeen Vs Dundee United - Saturday 27th December (5.45PM)

Not seen the interview itself but seen mention that Goodwin is "pushing Iovu and Camara"

Much as I'd love both these players to be fit for Saturday is it wise that the manager is "pushing them" to be fit? To me that's a bit worrying.

Strain and Graham however are definitely out.

Strange that Graham has apparently told people he's gonna be fine

It was a strange quote assigned to JG to be fair.
Don't think I've ever heard of a coach pushing his players to be fit.
They're either going to be be passed fit or not.

Good news but I don’t want Camara injured again for the derby.

Re: Aberdeen Vs Dundee United - Saturday 27th December (5.45PM)

I want our strongest team on the park for the next game whoever it's against tbh, we dont have the luxury of resting players for a big game so they are OK for the next one. If hes fit he plays as far as I'm concerned.

If he's fit and it won't jeopardize long term fitness yes.
Otherwerwise definite no no.

Re: Aberdeen Vs Dundee United - Saturday 27th December (5.45PM)

Not sure which thread to put this in so I'll stick it here.
Pre match interview with JG, a few interesting quotes

"Saturday may be too soon for Camara and Iovu"

"Some of our better players are attracting a lot of interest"
"We want to add to the squad and come out of the January window stronger"

And interesting that he went out of his way to defend the Sports Science team
"Other clubs with bigger resources having the same problems we are"

Our starting 11 and bench could look a bit thin tomorrow.
I thought SCH looked great v Hibs, must surely start but I'm hard pressed to name an effective side.

Camara only if fit.

Better players attracting interest - Sapsford will go for 7 figures. If not this window later.     Ferry I think we've held back by keeping him.

SCH - totally - at home, at ease, positionally aware, reads the game, don't know what Jim's been stuffing around at. Like Stirton mebbe - too much cotton wool ?

Don’t mind this if Graham, Iovu, Strain and Kerestzes were back fit for Livi or Dundee.

Sapsford was, by his own admission, not fit for the last derby at Dens but played anyway. Most players wouldn't have.

Agree. In a perfect world.
But doesnae always work that way, one that comes to mind is Middleton played on v Ross County last year despite asking off result = long term injury.
Kerestes JG did the right thing, off at half time.

Re: Aberdeen Vs Dundee United - Saturday 27th December (5.45PM)

No starting place for Sam CH

Unbelievable from this manager.

2 keepers on the bench according to DUFC official
Midfield 2 of Svelje and Sibbald.
Watters preferred in the middle to our best CF who starts out wide

More Mellonball incoming 🤓
Or am I being too harsh

Re: Aberdeen Vs Dundee United - Saturday 27th December (5.45PM)

Why do we have 2 goalies on the subbies bench?

Absolutely accurate based on what we have seen first half.

Re: Aberdeen Vs Dundee United - Saturday 27th December (5.45PM)

Disjointed athegither, but then what d'ye expect with a the injuries.  Crying out for Camara, Stevenson.

Esselink, sorry you're a red pudden compared wi young Sam.

And as for bringing on Moller ??  May as well take a man off and leave it at that.  Only good thing you can say is he keeps one ae them occupied other than that weak as piss.

Watters goes off ?  If this is another injury get him back tae Bolton, Bury, Bradford Park Avenue or wherever.
Gives it his all but no good tae us wi mortgage on physios table.

I said to my wife that I’d buy her a bottle of wine tonight if Moller scored knowing my money was safe.

Honestly, why is it that much of an annoyance? We are severely depleted and it was probably just to fill the bench. Hardly the big issue though is it?
