If we could somehow manage to turn up for both halves it would be a bonus.

Presuming your meaning 352 Mario, I think that's the team he'll pick.  He talked post match v Rangers about St Mirrens physicality, and your 11 definitely addresses that. Camara Svelj and Sibbald v Phillips Bachus and OHara. We win that battle with Stephenson and Ferry on the flanks.

Agreed. After the performances against Kilmarnock and Livi, we need to start the game on the front foot. If not, they gain an ascendancy and we end up playing on the back foot. I think we need to stop worrying about conceding an early goal, rather, take the game to them. Very simply, if we are attacking, they’re not.

This for me too. We need to match them physically and for energy. Can't have any passengers on Saturday.

Too much commotion

Re: Dundee United vs St.Mirren - Saturday 25th October

The last two performances at Tannadice, nowhere near good enough.

Huge 90 minutes performance needed on Saturday. If we win we can go 3rd in the table.

That's a huge incentive.

I'll take any kind of win,but a clean sheet too would be good 🤞

Re: Dundee United vs St.Mirren - Saturday 25th October

Yeah. St Mirren are a good team and will play very much like Killy and Livingston.

No point in us playing well against the big teams and then getting schooled at home by teams we should be beating. Need to win this one.

Aberdeen could easily be level on points with us after this weekend. Considering the start they have had that would equal a poor start to the season for me.

Re: Dundee United vs St.Mirren - Saturday 25th October

Will Robinson be in the dug out after last week, that would be a boost if he isn’t, he doesn’t let his players have a second off, constantly berating them to do more.

Sent off straight red, off ye pop up to the Jerry Kerr Mrs Robinson.
Also thought they had a player red carded too, their RB? Richardson.
No mention of Robinson's red in the BBC match report but saw it on the highlights and there's been no news of an appeal.

Re: Dundee United vs St.Mirren - Saturday 25th October

A win today is huge.

Win and we're 3rd (for 24 hours at least).

Lose or draw and Dundee win at Falkirk and they are potentially 3rd. Or our opponents St.Mirren (if they beat us).

Crazy league this season.

Wins and 3 points are massive.

P.s. no idea why Google website doesn't have our badge (or Falkirk's). 🤔

Re: Dundee United vs St.Mirren - Saturday 25th October

I think we can look forward to a wind affected physical battle today.
It's been a while since VAR has spoiled a game at Tannadice. It's been a major factor in our recent clashes against SM.
I've a feeling  a very tight encounter could be decided by the ever reliable VAR.

Yes and by the way the lesser spotted Owen Stirton makes the bench.

Well, matching them up isn't working so far. Very lucky to go in at 1-1 at half-time.

I think we may well see your 433 in the second half because Iovu is lost out there. Also depends if Luca carries on after getting battered, could be replaced with Naamo.
But as you say lucky to be 1-1 at HT. Really need to step up this next 45.

Re: Dundee United vs St.Mirren - Saturday 25th October

Not a great performance. VAR did its job.  Fatah made the difference.  Also thought Moller did well with limited service.  Sibbald scoring crackers every week gets my approval.

Re: Dundee United vs St.Mirren - Saturday 25th October

Being honest I thought we were a shambles for 60 minutes despite a side and formation that few would have complained about pre match. We were awful to watch.

Misplaced passes, hurried clearances, 2 players going for the same ball, no poise, no quality, no connections, defenders letting the ball bounce in our box. Shaky nervous defending, keeper flogs one again. Apart from that we were OK 😁
Nah we were stinking.
Fair play to JG, he goes 433 with 2 wingers and suddenly we look decent and do the damage necessary.

We will play better and lose so I'll take that.
