Love the goalie, back 3 so comfortable all day, camera was phenomenal, sapsford and dolcek gonna be brilliant for us. Fatah is a bit meh- canna believe he got bought for 5 mill

Conway11 is byling. 😉

Fatah will have better games I'm sure. Camara man of the match for me,he was everywhere. Dolcek and Sapsford definitely ran him close though. Thought Sevelj was excellent too. No real failures though, like I said, Fatah will have good games and shite games he's that kind of player I think.

Yeah I get they vibes he’ll be unplayable one week dreadful the night.

Absolutely love the goalie, does a few mad things but by the looks of what I’ve seen so far he’s very good!

Agree with all the posts and Cam motm.
Yesterday was the first time in a long time when we have been able to bring on the subs who actually contributed to the game.

Has to be one of the easiest derby wins I can remember.   That Dundee team look poor.   Just sat back and let us have the ball for most of the 1st half, crazy in a derby.

Scrolling down twitter last night and looking at their forum for a laugh, about 80% of them said we are shite and all the usual.

Rapid Vienna would hit them for 7.

Couple of weeks ago their forums were full of bravado as per usual, saying things like "we have waited and signed tried and tested British players, they have rushed in to take a punt on foreign journeymen "

Their support is mostly arrogant, if they get any scraps of encouragement they get really cocky.

Now they are saying stuff like two shite teams on Sunday. Wait until the next Derby boys because we are very likely going to give you 5.

I was disappointed it took us as long as it did to get the second goal yesterday, we really should have finished it as a competition by half time.

The transition in players signed versus loan is very encouraging compared to last season which should make things a bit easier next summer.

And already we see the difference in quality coming off the bench - remember when we couldn't hold onto a lead at Pittodrie because we'd run out of energy and no fresh legs to consolidate it? Changed days.

And, lastly, looks like we may have signed some players that will make the club some money in the longer term.

Re: Dundee vs Dundee United - Sunday 31st August (2PM)

I would also add that very few of their support are able to openly admit and confront the massive change in the dynamic between the two clubs. They hold on in silence and misplaced defiance hoping that things will reverse back to a 1950's power scenario where they were the more successful club. They love that Gordon Strachan was attracted to their club because of his standing in Scottish football but refuse to accept his accountability for some very bad decisions.

Two derby victories for them last season papered cosmetically over large cracks that have appeared in the last few years. Our growing support v their declining support.
Our board's consistent ability to run the club better.
Our marketing as a club to sponsors is noteworthy, and to signing targets.

Long may it continue.
One club in Dundee.

Call me a Dismal Jimmy but I think we're getting carried away a bit.
Brilliant having the bragging rights til the next time & able to wallow over our win for a fortnight til the Hibs game but...
- it was 2 nil not 6 nil
- we should have put the game to bed before 77 minutes
- they have won 2 of the last 3 derbies
- they can only get better (unless they get worse)
- we had a recent innocuous display at Killie
- our next game is a tough one & remember you're only as good as your last game

Not trying to put you off your porridge but perspective always.

Are you missing Butcher and Harkes?
Paton and Campbell?
Birighitti and Mulgrew?
Edwards and Pawlett?

Re: Dundee vs Dundee United - Sunday 31st August (2PM)

Whilst no-one is getting carried away, we can all see that there's the making of a good team in there and we'll only get stronger as the season goes on and we have a full squad to choose from and they build understandings.

We'll get scrappy wins like v Strassen, we'll have off days like we did v Killie (we always do there) but for 60 mins v Hearts, before the injury situation cost us, for the majority of that game on Sunday and the two Vienna ties, surely there's more reason to be looking upwards than over our shoulder?

"Don't F*cking ever offer me that again!"

I'm lucky enough to have enjoyed at a rough estimate, 60+ derby wins, I've got a brilliant record, and none moreso than the one on Sunday. (Tho 1965 & 1983 were very very special). So keep them coming, I fukn love them. I've seldom been more excited as a fan than I am just now, I can't wait to see how this squad develops, my cup is spilling over, half empty my arse.

But all I'm asking for is perspective and I made a couple of relevant thoughts, no way pessimistic. What grinds my gears are the extremists, you know who you are, 3 wins in a row and add a further 2 years to Jim's contract & be fearful of English C'ship sides wooing him. 3 losses in a row and you'll drive the taxi, Goodwin's got a rotten Cup & play-offs record. Hero to zero & all that.

Sheer joy. But perspective. We'll win some & lose some this season, nothing surer.

It would be great if we could go one better this season because our fans are incredible at the moment.
Never seen anything like it in 50 years. Unbelievable.

(And just on Dens, if the new stadium doesn't go ahead it's going to leave them in a very very big hole because I'm told there are parts of the stadium that are only just achieving safety certificate status and will need heavy investment in the future)
