Brilliant result. Keeper, Sibbald and Dolcek and Sapsford excellent. Back 3 did well. Camara horrendous. Ball watching all night and ponderous in possession. Like a different player from Sunday. Hope to fuck Pappoe is ok.

Let's get the concerns out of the way first.
On our left side we looked vulnerable all night. We need to strengthen there for the second leg.
Second off, we're running out of players. Take note Mr Ogren! Urgently.
The positives, I could write for days and break the internet. Sapsford especially, listened to his interview there, he's got ice in his veins. Watters, boy stands between the posts and scores goals eh?
Camara is giving Sibbald confidence and vice versa. I'll leave that there. And that back 3 are fucking immense.
Keeper done great too.
Woohoo, now destroy Hearts on Sunday boys 🧡

Unbelievable performance.
It’s worth noting, back in 1984, the legendary United side lost 2-1 there.
Sapsford’s interview with Jane Lewis was fantastic. She asked him the same question, three times and he just looked at her as if she was a moron and said “we’ll find out next week” It was almost Dalglishesque.
I’m thrilled.

The ref was brilliant, as good as I can remember.
He booked one player (their #6) and awarded 8 fouls.
Beaton at Falkirk on Sunday - 6 bookings & 22 fouls.
He let the game go, I'd watch him refing every week.
Take a lesson Scottish referees & take a bow Luis Godinho from Portugal.

That second half of football was the best we've played in Europe since the 80s.
To lose Pappoe so early, who looked excellent and the lynch pin in midfield was a cruel and devastating blow, and i was surprised Goodwin never just stuck Sevelj in the middle and Dolcek RWB, but his tactic to keep Dolcek further forward certainly worked as i felt he was excellent at times. We now need to just hope that Pappoe's injury isn't as bad as it looked (but his reaction looked telling, he looked devastated).
Zac Sapsford is looking a real find and a Hell of a signing from nowhere. He reminds me of David Goodwillie a bit, similar running style and dangerous when he just gets his head down and starts running at players. Can quite evidently take a goal as well. Haven't roared a United goal like that for years.Â
To do that on the continent, in front of United fans in a big European stadium. Absolutely sublime. Marco Van Basten himself would have been proud of that one.
That's all we want from United. Fight and a 'never say die' attitude despite any set-backs. Really proud of that one tonight
But it all means nothing, ultimately, if we don't finish the job next Thursday.
They have good attacking players, but certainly looked vulnerable when we ran at them.
Nothing to fear next Thursday if we play like we did tonight and be confident.
Finally. We need a signing or two in asap. Get whoever it is we are talking too in the door over the weekend. Goodwin needs a chance here to pull off the miracle that would be our best result since 1987.

Me and my Son both said the same. Gave neither team silly little fouls and let the game go.

It did remind me a wee bit of Moenchengladbach. I was there that night and munched my way through several fingernails as we defended resolutely in a very hostile stadium against a very talented side.
But tonight just as then the team was unfazed by the atmosphere and got a result.
I suppose the difference was that Germany was the second leg and it was a match we won but to be even making the comparison is quite a compliment.

Have to disagree about Camara. Not as influential as last Sunday v Falkirk but his energy and partnership with Sibbald was good. In the second half he played more like a sweeper in front of the back 3 and took the pressure off them a lot.
But I guess we all see things differently. Honestly I wouldn't be singling out any player tonight for criticism.

That was the interview I was meaning. Utterly ice laden.
Pre match interview the lad was focussed as fuck and just said aye ok we'll see kind of stuff.
Post match she was trying to get a reaction and he just said aye ok we'll see.
Interesting how many fans on various United forums wrote this lad off as not being a goalscorer when his bag was still unpacked and his boarding card was still in his top pocket.

I hope Pappoe's not as bad as we fear, but if he does have to go back to Ferencvaros then that sounds like a ready made replacement tbh.
He's still only 27.

Agree. Thought he played well. Dropping deep to take the ball all game and try to get us moving up the pitch. Taking responsibility in a big game, away from home. Last player I remember doing that for us was Fyvie before he got his final injury.

Thought Camera was terrible in the first half but came on in the second. We rode our luck at times last night but what a fighting spirit they showed.  Two great goals too. Â
