Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Just watched a few clips of him and he is playing exclusively as a right winger.

And not to take too much hope from a YouTube clip... But he looks like a proper good player. Almost what Babunski would have been if he had any pace or strength. Looks very two footed as well with a good shot on him. Hopefully there is some truth in the rumour.

TBF I'm not sure paid Croatian footballers sneaking in on dinghys are the concern.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Croatia is an absolute goldmine for players. They’ve a population about half the size of Scotland and have managed to reach the World Cup final. Their players are miles ahead of ours technically and they tend to be hardy bastards with a strong mentality, and they usually adapt well when moving abroad.

Outside of their top teams like Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split, the players at the other teams are probably on comparable wages, if not a bit less than most Premiership teams pay. It’s a market we should be shopping in regularly

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

So is this just a random rumour or actually happening?

Just had a watch of his clips on YouTube. Agree with all of that.

Looks two footed, pacy, and drives at players. Looks like Middleton's replacement, if he can also cover Ferry, all the better. Though his stats ain't amazing, so maybe caution should be applied (4 goals in 37 games last season, 2 assists).

Need to wait and see if this random rumour is true now.

Clear messages from Temple and Goodwin all week that they expected a couple late this week/early next week.

Same was said last week

We need to get players gelled and ready and yet we have no actual proven goal scorer at the club at all. Less than a fortnight and only two friendlies left after tonight's game to get any kind of fluency up front before the Euro tie.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

You don't concede goals you don't lose, that's true.

But i'd much rather be sitting here thinking those forwards will score us goals, we'll be totally sorted once we sign players in other positions.

The players they want have other options apparently so they are being patient. It's a balance of holding out for the top targets whilst getting them in on time I guess.

Good luck to him. Not sure I saw anything from him in his time here to justify the hype, but hope he goes on to have a decent career.

Miller Thomson chucked on up front and looking like a little boy lost.

Too much commotion

He's not a Striker tbf.

Don't ask me what his position actually is though, because i'm not sure.

Probably gonna go back out on loan i'd imagine.

Alan Temple-

Dundee United keen on Troyes' Sweden U/21 winger Amar Fatah, who has also played for City Group stablemates Lommel and Willem II.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Stephenson seemingly done well in a friendly for Liverpool against Preston. Might put him out of reach for us if Liverpool feel he’s capable of playing at a higher level, I’d imagine even teams like Preston themselves would take notice of him.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Another season at us would be a waste for his career, he's nothing left to prove here. He should be kicking on at a Championship team.

Selfishly you’d want him back here. But yeah, from the boy’s perspective, you’re absolutely correct. I also think, due to a number of factors, that last year is as good as it’s gonna get for us for a while, so it’s gonna be a regression for him if anything.

Agree unfortunately, can't see Liverpool sending him back to us.

He played the first 45 for them at CB today on the right of a 3. Rarely tested but when he was he did well except on one cross where he got caught under the ball.

Slot played Andy Robertson in the middle of a back 3 second half.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

25 year old Hungarian left sided Centre Half coming in.

Krisztian Keresztes apparently. Plays for a team in Hungarian top flight who I'm not even going to attempt to spell.

Loan of permanent?

We're going to be top heavy with centre halfs.

Sam will be going out to a championship / high end league 1 club assuming.

That leaves one of three new signings or the team captain sitting out when Graham is fit again.

Obviously a back four is not in Goodwin's plans at all, he's spunking his budget on CH's  . . . . We seem to do this every year but in different positions.

We 100% needed a new centre half

Can’t have 4 centre halves at the club if we are playing 3 at the back especially with grahams injury problems

No idea, pal . If it's loan or permanent. He does have two years left on his contract though, so if it's the latter I can only assume we are paying a fee or a paying it up in installments like Iovu.

It does feel we are ridiculously top heavy on defenders and defensive midfielders compared to other areas of the team.

But, that's what Goodwin does.
