I believe the context of the article was strikers. But the article also mentioned that we want to add players in the wide positions too.
No real surprise as we can all see it. Just good to hear that that's where the focus is as it's glaringly obvious.
I feel like from reading other forums and general social media, Sapsford is already being written off because he is 'unproven'. And I'm feeling that myself a little bit. When I think about our potential starting 11 I don't include him in it. I have the unknown winger and striker starting, probably with Trapanovski out wide.
Obviously I have no idea if he'll be good or not, but we'll be hoping he surprises a few of us.
Nothing more Dundee United than some fans writing off a signing before he's played a competitive game....

Heard a fee of 70k mentioned for Rory, no idea on the sell-on %.
Hopefully the deal is done quickly and we can move on. The kid has had one foot out of Tannadice for well over a year now.
He must be delighted that all his agitating for a move and acting the cunt behind the scenes has landed him a big move to East End Park.
Exactly my thoughts…goody and russel must have been guys he watched when he was a kid. Role models. Can’t think of a single billy big baws that left us after playing a few games for a “big” team in England that has done anything with their career.

Souttar got a 'big' move, but has hardly set the heather alight.

Don’t think Souttar was ever a Billy big baws either. Thompson would sell anything that wasn’t nailed down by that point

I wasn't writing him off.
I said that I hope he surprises us, as I've not seen many people saying they think he could be a big player for us this season.

Worried Goodwin saying possibly only 1 more striker, surely we should be looking at least 3 more

I wasn't having a go at you personally, just seen this occasionally on message boards. Perfect example was when Dalby signed there was one or two saying they'd never heard of him, cannae be decent if Wrexham letting him away etc.
On the other hand there's a few who think Pappoe might be the next Jimmy Gomis.
In both cases we won't know until we've played a few competitive games.

I seen that.
It surely must be another two Strikers, minimum.
In an ideal World it's three new Strikers and VDS departs, but I doubt that happens.

Unpopular opinion, but i'd take Steven Fletcher back for a season.
Still not got a club. And not announced retirement.
Knows the club, knows the Manager, knows the young players like Thomson, Graham, Fotheringham.
Fit, experienced, and a player that everyone would respect.
Still, think it would make more sense than not.

Yep agreed
Still feel we are short at centre half especially if we are going for 3 and the back again
Wingers we only have trap, Thomson and Fotheringham, one of the last 2 I can see leaving, so would need 2 or 3 wingers too
Then you have Luca if he comes back, you’d think 1 or 2 of the midfielders will go
Hell of a lot of work still to be done on the squad

Goodwin has said the plan is to play a higher line, with more pace and attacking intent.
Steven fletcher isn't the answer unless the question is who can we lump the ball to, to miss loads of chances?

That’s all fine and well if that’s going well, you need a different option, fletcher was used perfectly at Wrexham. Coming off the bench and scoring late goals
I’d have him back in a heart beat

10 goals from 39 games two years ago, wouldn't be cheap, held together by string and masking tape.
8 goals from 33
8 goals from 40
The following 2 seasons.
I'd take him back if he was willing to pay for peanuts, maybe, but I think the fact he was at least committed last time, clouds folks judgement, he wasn't a great striker by any means, he never has been.
Better aff wi Jessica Fletcher.
If that's the angle the club go down, it was pointless getting rid of Moult.
Offline
He did well for us but I can't see Fletcher coming back. Not sure I would want it either tbh.
Offline
The hoofball we played with Fletcher upfront was some of the worst I've ever seen from 11 men in Tangerine.
I can see what TEK is thinking but really this would be a backwards step.
I'm sure we're tracking one or two really good strikers to complement Sapsford, we just need to be patient and have some trust in the process.

Not United related but apparently Kevin Holt leaving Derry City & joining Ayr United…

I’d have him back in a minute. I know some folk weren’t happy about the way he left but he’s got to look after himself first and foremost, that’s life, it doesn’t really bother me.

Hello Yes just to inform news for you our Agency Finalize our top wing back player Croatia 🇭🇷 Ivan Dolćek to Dundee United Scotland Football club

I don’t see it on Twitter, deleted maybe?
Looks like he left his current club at end of season after best season of his career - now looking for a move in to another European league. Do we need another wing back?

He's left wing back/winger.
And yes we need one.

Transfermarkt also has him playing as a right winger before. Literally 3 positions we are very short in at the moment. I'm all for it!

Wonder if Sevelj had anything to do with it? I’m all for it also.
