Dunfermline close to signing Rory McLeod
Weird one surely we’d be due a hefty compensation fee

Sam Cosgrove playing in that free agent game today. 31 goals in 79 games for Aberdeen. 6 goals in 8 europa league qualifiers.
Worth a look at anyway surely.

Have said this before, he would be the ideal target man. Just put pace and runners around him.

Dunfermline close to signing Rory Macleod on a permanent. Scott Burns saying United would be getting decent add ons etc.

Cant see dunfermilne paying any sort of fee tbh if there is it will be insignificant to us.
The add ons mentioned above makes more sense, big sell on fee percentage, X amount of goals bonus, promotion bonus etc i would think, possibly even 1st option to buy back in the future

I doubt they could afford the compensation fee, there must be some financial jiggery pokery going on.

Do they have a player we might be interested in I wonder. Otherwise we'd be forgoing the Development fee just to get him off the books. Seems a bit strange if that's the case.

Must also mean we are close to getting a couple of forwards in, strapsford is our only fit striker at the moment

Heard a fee of 70k mentioned for Rory, no idea on the sell-on %.
Hopefully the deal is done quickly and we can move on. The kid has had one foot out of Tannadice for well over a year now.

I can't quite get my head around the fact that we never took any trialists to Holland with us.
You would think the chance to assess a player all week physically, mentally and how they mix in the dressing room and around the other players would be an option to good to turn down, but it would seem not.

Didn't Wesley join us as a trialist when we were there?

I think he was just an outright signing, but I could be wrong.

He played as a trialist in a game in Holland against (wait for it) AZ Alkmaar. Signed a couple of weeks later after we let him go on a holiday to Ibiza for a week.

“We’re not quite over the line but we are hopeful of getting some business done by the end of the week,” said Goodwin.
“Will we get him in time for the game (against PEC Zwolle) on Friday? Probably not, but we’d like to think we’ll have one – possibly two – new faces by the time we get back to Scotland.
Goodwin talking about strikers in the Courier.

Should have a new striker by end of the week according to Goodwin in courier

Need more tbh and quickly. Running out of preseason games, and I'm primed and ready for the same lame excuses that Tek has mentioned more than once. Not had a full preseason, not quite up to speed yet, needs a run of games.
Fingers out time!

Hopefully the 2 Jim’s alluding to are a big goal scorer and a pacy winger.

I believe the context of the article was strikers. But the article also mentioned that we want to add players in the wide positions too.
No real surprise as we can all see it. Just good to hear that that's where the focus is as it's glaringly obvious.
I feel like from reading other forums and general social media, Sapsford is already being written off because he is 'unproven'. And I'm feeling that myself a little bit. When I think about our potential starting 11 I don't include him in it. I have the unknown winger and striker starting, probably with Trapanovski out wide.
Obviously I have no idea if he'll be good or not, but we'll be hoping he surprises a few of us.

I think Sapsford will benefit from playing in a front 3 or playing along side a powerful striker who can knock it on/down for him, and he would make the runs down the channels and beyond the main striker.

He must be delighted that all his agitating for a move and acting the cunt behind the scenes has landed him a big move to East End Park.

For me I'd be playing 3-5-2.
Keeper
Iouvo
Bert
Graham
Strain/Nammo
Sevelj
Camara
Pappoe
Ferry
Sapsford/new striker with pace
New big striker
