Noticed Rory McLeod was back in first team training in the video posted today. No sign of Meshack or Odada, I wonder if they've been told not to bother coming back.
I thought that was quite noticeable too, Odada and Meshack being nowhere to be seen. Obviously been told to get their Agents to find them new clubs.
Rory looked miserable. I can only hope the kid realises he's lucky to have been given another chance. Don't think he quite deserves it tbh, but Goodwin must see something in him worth persevering with, because he'd have been an obvious release for me.
I thought the same when I saw him. Looked like he was thinking “wtf am I doing here?” If that’s what he’s thinking, he can quite happily fuck off and try his luck elsewhere. I’ve never seen anything from him that remotely resembles a football player. Is his arrogance based on scoring goals at under 17 level? That’s like being the world’s tallest dwarf.

Apparently his attitude is horrendous, reason he was binned by Forfar, he needs a serious serious kick up the arse or he’ll be playing junior football in no time

I think you are spot on with this. It is a huge flaw in the elite/academy system. You can look brilliant at 19, but, still fail to make the grade at senior level (Charlie Telfer being a prime example). These youngsters have no “b” plans beyond football, in fact, it never occurs to them that they might not make the grade. I doubt he will make the grade.
His move to Southampton, probably gave him the belief that he was better than he actually was. I would much prefer to see Owen Stirton get a chance.

Tbh I've only seen him once in the flesh - against brechin last season. I thought he did ok. Work rate was good. Looked tidy enough on the ball. I do wonder if hes an all round ok player rather than excelling in one position but the step up from me kids to men's football is huge and hes never going to grown an extra foot.
In saying that, the lads only 19. Far too early to write him off. Maybe if he does/did have an attitude it was due to the club doing their best to put him in tye shop window before his time.... equally, what if Southampton has been an eye opener for him?
Gie the laddie a chance

I think his lack of stature (height) will be an issue. He is very small. He may do better in Portugal or even MLS. The question for me, is he mature enough to cope with a move of that magnitude?
I do think you are right about him being “marketed” too soon. Much of that was the legacy of the previous regime, where young players were regarded as a sell on commodity.

Daily record said a couple of weeks ago we’d offered and agreed a new deal with him. No official word yet.

It's all a little strange.
Club also hasn't announced new deals yet for Charlie Dewar, Ruairidh Adams and yet both were in the training videos.

They'll have offered a contract so the compensation clause kicks in, whether he's accepted it......

That makes the most sense i suppose, ties in with him looking like he doesnt want to be there although that may not be true at all. Does anyone know how he got on at southampton, it obviously wasnt a success to the point they wanted to sign him but i remember him scoring a double earlier in the season and heard nothing since.
Dont know anything about the boy dewar but adams seemed to have a decent spell at kelty? and is surley worth keeping and putting out on loan at a higher level so he can be recalled if an injury happens to new keeper/dave. Hopefully next season he could push to be number 2 or even 1. Im assumimg newman is now away?

Pinch of salt rumour as there might be some Dundee/Dundee United confusion on Twitter, but Musa Juwara is the name. Only quoted as interest at the moment. Nothing concrete.
Left footed winger. 23 years old, Gambian.
Currently plays for Vejle in Denmark. Has been consistently playing for them the last 2 seasons. Over double figures for goals and assists combined over those seasons. Was on the books of Bologna and played for them a few times around 20/21.
Like I said, pinch of salt, might be a Dundee target and it's been translated incorrectly.

Looks like it might be us but it's a bit strange given we already have a left footed wide left player in Trapanovski. Would have thought we'd be searching for a right footed right sided player.

Nowadays a lot of left footed players play on the right and cut inside onto their preferred foot.

Trapanovski’s right footed.

Trapanovski’s right footed.
I'll have to watch more closely. Explains why he likes to cut back though.

We might have missed out on a striker who doesn’t score.
Can Toulouse take Van der Sande?

Our transfer business is freaking me out now tbh.
Apart from Camara, none of these players know what it takes to play in UK football.
I hope I am being overly worried and anxious about nothing.
I'm not averse to a couple of leftfield foreign gems. Just not a whole team of them. That normally only goes one way.
I agree to an extent. It is a risk going after so many foreign players, especially when last season was built on a core of primarily Scottish players. But looking around the league, is there really that many Scottish players that stood out as being worth going for? I can’t think of many, and the ones that did are likely not gettable.Probably talking more getting English boys on loan JD, but there are one or two local lads who i think would have been great signings.
Brad Spencer at Falkirk and Danny Armstrong at Killie being two.
I know we signed a good few foreign lads last season but the spine of the team was still Walton, Gallagher, Holt, Docherty, Moult, Dalby. All experienced UK players.
Now they're all gone.
You need that homegrown mentality in the dressing room.
I absolutely agree but if the right one's aren't available/don't want to come then that is football - that backbone you mentioned, every single one of them declined hard since January 1st this year. We simply cannot have that much of a drop again - if it is young, foreign exports but we keep the same form then I for one am happy.
