In: Iurie Iovu, defender (Istra 1961); Zac Sapsford, defender (Western Sydney Wanderers); Panutche Camara, midfielder (Crawley Town).
That's just a mistake. He's a forward who plays through the middle and wide. He's not a defender.

We already have a forward that can't score.

Ovie Ejaria also mentioned, a midfielder that hasn't had a club for two seasons 😳. I hope this is bullshit

I'm really trying not to be negative, I am.
But seems like he hasn't scored a goal at his last four clubs 😧

Our transfer business is freaking me out now tbh.
Apart from Camara, none of these players know what it takes to play in UK football.
I hope I am being overly worried and anxious about nothing.
I'm not averse to a couple of leftfield foreign gems. Just not a whole team of them. That normally only goes one way.

I agree to an extent. It is a risk going after so many foreign players, especially when last season was built on a core of primarily Scottish players. But looking around the league, is there really that many Scottish players that stood out as being worth going for? I can’t think of many, and the ones that did are likely not gettable.

I guess if there is a positive ( assuming we sign this guy of course ) it's that Sam Dalby also hadn't scored many before he came to us

Fuck this data stuff, get players in who are proven in this league.

Noticed Rory McLeod was back in first team training in the video posted today. No sign of Meshack or Odada, I wonder if they've been told not to bother coming back.

Loan deal done.

One thing I will say about the boy, although he hasn’t scored a lot recently, it’s all been at clubs playing at a lot higher level than the one he’s coming to. Toulouse, Vitesse Arnhem, Lokomotiv Moscow and even Widzew Lodz are decent sized clubs playing against defenders that will a hell of a lot better than fucking Clark Robertson and Rubezic every week.
Ciftci wasn’t exactly prolific prior to joining us either. Sometimes it just clicks for players for certain clubs.

At least it's only a loan if it doesn't work out

Probably talking more getting English boys on loan JD, but there are one or two local lads who i think would have been great signings.
Brad Spencer at Falkirk and Danny Armstrong at Killie being two.
I know we signed a good few foreign lads last season but the spine of the team was still Walton, Gallagher, Holt, Docherty, Moult, Dalby. All experienced UK players.
Now they're all gone.
You need that homegrown mentality in the dressing room.

I agree, it does worry me. Lot of young players and vibe seems younger going by the videos United have put up in pre-season. But Goodwin’s not wet behind the ears either, he’ll know it’s a risk too, but he’s gambling that we’re potentially getting players of a higher level than ones we’d pick up here. Hopefully it works out, but if it doesn’t, I just hope we don’t get relegated again.
I don’t think we will, but you never know. I do think there’s some poor, poor teams in the league this year. It’s early days but Dundee, Kilmarnock and Livi have awful squads on paper, you could throw Motherwell in that mix as well. Dundee and Killie in particular, I’d be worried if I supported them, dreadful squads with egotistical, poor managers, not a good mix.
I don’t think next season will be quite as good as the one past, one because I think our results took even ourselves as a big surprise, and a lot of those results came from having experienced players with sheer grit and determination to see out games. We’ve got a big rebuild this summer, and we have to accept that even a 6th-8th finish isn’t the end of the world. I think we’ll see a team that’s capable of better football, not necessarily tiki-taka, but high energy, pressing and physicality, but will likely be less defensively resolute and will probably lose a few stupid goals and games, especially early on, as the goalkeeper, centre halves and holding midfielders get used to each other.
Spencer’s a good player, but is a total non-starter. Falkirk know how good he is, and if they do sell, it’ll be for half decent money, and Hearts are sniffing about him. I’m not even sure if that Armstrong’s that good. He’s never stood out to me, but I’ve only ever seen him against us.
We will get more players from down south, probably 4-5, but it will be later in the window cause most English clubs won’t even be back for pre-season yet and won’t have decided who they’re keeping, binning or loaning out. I reckon folk pining for Stevenson will be waiting a good while longer yet, possibly till around the European games, maybe even after for Liverpool to decide what they’re doing with him.

Oops sorry, I thought you maybe hadn't seen the interview with him. It's ridiculous the BBC can't get these basic facts right.

I thought that was quite noticeable too, Odada and Meshack being nowhere to be seen. Obviously been told to get their Agents to find them new clubs.
Rory looked miserable. I can only hope the kid realises he's lucky to have been given another chance. Don't think he quite deserves it tbh, but Goodwin must see something in him worth persevering with, because he'd have been an obvious release for me.

Hamulic seems like a bit of a punt, wasn’t too long ago he was a £2m player but since then no goals in 30 games (I’m guessing a lot of subby appearances in there), got a feeling he’ll either be a smash hit or a total flop with no in between. The new Ciftci or the new Darko Bodul?

That’s where I’m at, potentially a really exciting signing
Id imagine a lot of the signings after this one, will be more British based player.
Still a lot of positions to be filled, centre half, couple centre mids, wingers, full back cover, still think we could be doing with another striker but it doesn’t look like jort is leaving atm

Suspect Odada, Mseshack and Trapanovski have all been given an extra week off which might explain their absence from the video.
Odada: The Serbian season went on longer than ours I think since they have play offs. I don't know this but did Kenya have a June international?
Meshack: Livi went right to the play off finals which finished 26th of May. Although Meshack didn't play he'll still have been training since he was in the squad.
Trapanovski: Was away with North Macedonia the other week in the two internationals.
