I wonder if that Ukrainian keeper that was mentioned is going to be one of them.

It's Joene Mampovisa. He's come up to be with the under 18s according to Alan Temple.

Why the end of next week though? That's been said for the last few weeks and we're still waiting?

Alan Temple explains it well on the courier’s podcast. European signings take slightly longer these days to get over the line due to Brexit.

It's just annoying as fuck to keep reading that we'll have a few in by the end of the week and then it's the week after, and then the week after. Next thing Jim will be moaning about players not being up to speed,or only having half a pre season. United need to get the finger out!

Exactly, this.

I don't want to hear any excuses come the Euro game about players not being 'up to speed' or having 'missed out on pre-season' etc etc.

Goodwin and Goodwin knew the size of the task needed recruitment wise.

At the moment it's a very disappointing lack of activity.

Surely we want the bulk of the team who starts against Una Strass to have all played three or four friendlies together.

It's a massive match for the club, not just financially, but also in terms of prestige and a chance to bury a few ghosts (Trabzonspor, Mypa, Slask Wroclaw etc).

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Tell ye what's worrying me ...
Alan Temple saying 5 more inbound. Fair enough I've a lot of time for his knowledge and balance.
But, no matter who we bring in they're no going tae be the calibre of leader Docherty was.
Don't doubt Jim"ll be looking to buy with this in mind but it's not going to happen overnight.
                   - - - - - - - - - -
The Moldovan"s interview - Geez you'd be backing him at poker.   Mebbe he'll turn out to be one of thes guys who's polar opposites on the field to what he is off field and he'll turn out very demonstrative on field

I'll. Give him the benefit of the doubt. A young lad who's never played in an English speaking country and conducts whole interview in English is probably difficult.

Hes some size though

Who's to say that these players aren't already over and training with us?

We have to remember that the transfer window was open for a short period then closed again and only re-opened at the start of this week.  Maybe they are waiting to reveal some new players with a kit reveal, or are waiting for them to get to Dundee so they can do a proper announcement?

Getting the right signings in and getting the deal done should and will always be more important than a half arsed press release announcing a player that we are trying to sign.

Goodwins comments about how difficult things can be when seeing how much a team like Bolton can afford to pay in comparison to us probably means that we might be close to signing players whose heads can be turned at the last minute.

The squad has been back at training for one day (more like 2-3 hours).  I don't get the immediate panic.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

You can’t force players to sign though, can you. We all know that if we are trying to sign better quality players then they will have options and also how difficult it is working with agents. I’m as frustrated as everyone else but I can cut united a bit of slack here. I might change my mind though if nothing happens in the next week.

Panutche Camara is the midfielder we're signing from England.

Very quick, tall and strong box to box midfielder. Fits in well with what Goodwin apparently wants from his new evolution of the squad which is physicality, pace and lots of running. He’ll probably do very well in this league looking at few videos of him.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

ADS - 50% of this thread is you moaning we've no signed enough players, mate  Whilst I agree we need to get things moving (we have signed two players which is more than other clubs in the league) the club are clearly working on things so my advice would be to take so called in-the-knows saying "there will be someone signing today" with the biggest pinch of salt you can. If it comes from a decent source then I believe it. Let's be honest, The Courier and The Record are the only two places you can trust to report an actual credible rumour. Alan Temple and Scott Burns. That's it. So I've kept eye on them, and unless they report a rumour, I just semi-ignore the whole 'imminent signing' posts that are littered across all of the forums. Not saying you need to do the same buddy, but I can tell you are stressed out! So just offering some friendly advice

Heard this rumour a month ago (was told to keep it quiet). Had assumed the deal had fallen through or we couldn't afford him.

Very happy with this signing.

The boy was supposedly shit hot until he got a bad injury.

Seems to be over that now. Played a lot of football last season certainly.
