I'm not sure it's a "wee taste" of anything, they pay £30+ for every away game I believe, every game they play in is category A for the home club. What Celtic charge away fans (which is a disgraceful price) has got absolutely nothing to do with them though, just as we're not responsible for United and Dundee bumping up the prices for derbies for both sets of fans.

I just don't like seeing supporters of any club cheering while clubs collude to increase prices across the league under the guise of benchmarking. I'd much rather fans of all clubs organising together to stand against being charged £40 for any game. It'll never happen through due to tribalism unfortunately, especially when we consider opposition fans 'absolute scum'.

No one cares mate, hope this helps.

Re: Split Fixtures

Massively surprised United have decided to put the Aberdeen fans behind Jim Goodwin again.

Good thing our fans are behind both goals, of course.

But, get the feeling they will just launch more projectiles at him.

Re: Split Fixtures

Celtic game is unique.

Potential title winner for them.
Milk them for every pound.
Milk them to pay the cost of damages outside the ground for overburden outside that cannae get through the gate.
Milk them to pay for damages inside the ground.
We owe them zip, Scottish football owes them nada zilch nothing.

Better off without them and their Hun sister but that's a whole other thread.

It will give their own hordes a wee taste of how it feels to have to fork out upwards of £37 quid to attend a game. They are not normal fans like us.

That's my opinion of them and their ugly sister.

Two things, if they get charged that price everywhere they go then fair enough, they shouldn't have an issue.

Secondly,  clubs are not colluding to increase prices.

St Johnstone £22, Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Motherwell both £24, Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen £30 & £31.

Yet when we go through to Glasgow is upwards of £35 notes and we need to put up with all of the nonsense.

You and me will never agree on this clearly 👍

That's fair enough, it's just something I feel really strongly about and feel that once you start charging these prices they quickly get normalised (charging over £30 was unthinkable not too long ago, and is now accepted). Now United have charged £40 for a game, what's to stop Dundee doing it to us next season, knowing that people will probably pay it. Then we'll do it back to them and it's normalised.

Anyway I won't say any more on the subject, I respect your view and suspect it's quite widely shared.

wouldn't cost too much to put a net up behind the dugouts.

I know this is a radical idea in 21C Scotland but how about they punish the perpetrators rather than the victims.
A clear statement from Police Scotland anyone throwing a missile on to the pitch will serve a minimum of 30 days in prison.
More likely though is , well they've had a tough upbringing, a numbers of Adverse childhood experiences, their behaviour is a form of communication their brain is not fully developed yet and finally getting round to blaming United for not meeting their needs.

Re: Split Fixtures

I do think £40 for a league game in Scotland is a piss take.  It starts to price some folk out of going.

I don't know anyone with a season ticket (don't have one as I live in Edinburgh and am happy to pay for the games I do go to) but have been going to games pretty regularly this and last season.  If my boy wasn't keen on it (£25 for a concession too is brutal) then I probably wouldn't bother (although I am in the privileged position where £65 note is not a problem).  Therein lies the issue - it gives a further excuse for those without seasons to not bother and no doubt the seats will just end up in the hands of tic fans.

Ok the deal does work out £30 average if you go to all three games and, with the season ticket offer I do think the club are trying to see our fans OK, but I do think that this just means we'll end up with a much smaller support and more infiltrators for what is still a big game for us.

Celtic do charge too much for Parkhead so in a way it's just desserts, but I don't really want to see future accessibility to the game to be further impacted by a hike in prices beyond what the product is actually worth.  A prem game should be no more than £30 in this country.  Whilst I can afford it, it just makes the decision of going along to see a local team to me (I do go to Bonnyrigg, Spartans, Musselburgh and Civil Service Strollers) easier - especially if, unlike this season, United are playing a lot of shite.

I like the idea but realistically the police have nothing to do with sentences, it would be for a judge to decide on a case by case basis under sentencing guidelines. Something has to be done about missiles being launched though, with CCTV it should be easy to identify and arrest culprits in real time during the match.

Re: Split Fixtures

Two policemen stationed at either side of the Jerry Kerr section behind the dugouts would do the trick would it not?

Wouldn’t give them the Jerry Kerr. They should only be getting the fair play.
