After a much needed week off to try and get some of our experienced players back fit and ready for our most important spell of this season.
We sit in 5th position, 2 points behind Hibs in 3rd and 5 ahead of Hearts in 7th.
4 winnable ties lie ahead and for me I think we need 4 points to guarantee top 6.
Style of play and formation are all irrelevant now it's that final score that matters and especially next Sunday, no hard luck stories please.
How many do we need for top 6 and how many will we collect in the next 4 games?

Dundee and St Johnstone at home.
County and Hearts away.
I’m looking for at least 7/12pts with 2 home wins and a draw at county. That would comfortably get us the top 6 and leave us in a good position to challenge for Europe. No matter what happens, we must wins both home games to make sure.
No sitting back and inviting pressure, we must dominate these teams. We sat back against Aberdeen and it absolutely cost us the win. If we take the game to Dundee and St Johnstone, we will get those wins.

If only our manager could learn from this but we all know he won’t.

I agree about your points total required from pre split fixtures if we want Europe, maybe even more required from the next 4 games.
I don't want to go over that game again but imo we never sat back, we were pushed back. We finished that game vs Aberdeen without Ferry Docherty, Sibbald, Gallsgher and Moult. Our squad simply doesn't have the depth or quality to cope without them and it was very evident to everyone watching.
3 points next Sunday would get us off to a great start.

The thought of sitting back in the derby and something going wrong gives me the fear.

I want to see a convincing 90 minute demolition of Dundee before I'm thinking that far forward.
A proper up and at them high octane putting to the sword. No wait and see, no tentative playing our way in, just get out there and do them serious damage.

I suspect two wins see us confirm Top 6.
I want to see us try and win every game though. No more, negative, 'game management' and sitting on leads. I want Goodwin to believe in our players more and take the handbrake off a bit.
Most importantly though, one game at a time.

We had 3 games in 7 days before a free week last week. I don’t like breaks but at this time of the season with a few boys out, it was probably well needed.
Hopefully Declan Gallagher and Will Ferry are 100% again. It would be massive if we could have Ross Docherty and Louis Moult back on the bench at least as well.

Fingers crossed Roger, just to get dome decent options from the bench that have a bit of quality and experience.
Keep it tight at the back and it will be 3 points on Sunday.

After the second half capitulation in Aberdeen and the terrible derby display I'm struggling to see where our next points are coming from.
As others have said the January signings and shoehorning Campbell into the side have completely ripped our wheels off.
I've been unhappy with our style of play for some time despite it delivering some points but JG is definitely at a crossroads here.

We really could have been doing with a game tomorrow night, I don't think 14 days with that performance hanging over the players/club is going to do us any favours.
Ultimately I think 3 points will be enough to get top 6.
The key for me is Docherty, we really need this guy up at Dingwall to secure a top 6 spot, midfield was an absolute disgrace on Sunday and the 2nd 45 against Aberdeen is you point out.

It's possible we'd have hung on for the win at Pittodrie if Goodwin makes the right subs but he absolutely fkd that up. We'll never know.
3 points cheated off us v Hibs and now this. Feels like we're on the wrong end of things and like you say could have done with a game Saturday.

Pretty stark statistic
We have lost 8 of our last 11 matches.

Current trajectory - we are done. lucky to stay above 10th - thanks to the fraud.

Am I right in thinking 3 points from the 3 games we have left would secure top six if we have the better goal difference?

Had a quick look yesterday, we're in a 5 way play off for 2 spaces, based on the maximum any team can get.
potential points
Hearts 45
Well 44
St Mirren 44
County 43
But, Hearts play Well, and St Mirren need to play County
So Hearts winning and County Winning
Hearts 45
County 43
Well 41
St Mirren 41
Well Win and St Mirren win
Well 44
St Mirren 44
Hearts 42
County 41
So even if we were to draw today that knocks County out the equation for finishing above us and a win probably guarantees it barring a horrendous set of results / scores.
I think.

4 points secures it, hopefully stop the rot today.

If St Mirren fail to beat Dundee on Saturday then that's top six without kicking a ball.

Opta has us at 99% chance of qualifying for the top 6, it can't be normal that I still think what if.
Anyway presuming we do get there, the next two games will probably represent our best chances of picking up points in our remaining games.
Both Hearts and St Johnstone are under pressure to win which should suit us.
Two wins would also for me seal 5 position and a possible European spot.

It’s good that it’s in Dundee’s interest to take points off of them.

I’ll 100% take 4/6 in the next 2 games.

Things are just about to get a whole lot harder imo, however pressure can do strange things. I think that hopefully by Sunday it's off us but don't want to repeat that mob up the road last year and let the season fizzle out.
Docherty being fit for the run in would be a massive boost along with the return of Declan Gallagher.
