Re: Kilmarnock vs United - Saturday 1st February (5.45PM)

3-5-2 or 4-5-1, bin that 4-4-2 we simply just don't have a centre midfielder that is fit that can play as a two.

I have no idea who he plays in there beside Stephenson and Sevelj but it can't be Holt. Maybe Babunski but I have my fears over that boy also when it comes to ghe physical side of Scottish football.

Dalby up top with Paton.

Three points are all that matter and a draw wouldn't be a disaster.

Keep it tight and the few in attendance from the home team will get on their back, let's bin the at least we had go pish and get back to being down right fuckin ugly to play against.

Could be a shout AD

Scottish football isn't too complicated as we have proven this season.

Mobility and aggression will go a long way in this division as it done last season also.

The last few games we have been too soft and I agree with others, there no point in even discussing Docherty at the minute.

14 games left, we are not bringing in another midfielder and by the time Sibbald is match fit it will be 10.

Goodwin has defo strengthen the wrong areas of our squad in my view, Sevelj or Stephenson get injured and we are proper fucked.

Docherty back in training apparently which is a boost.

Praying he can get a real good run in the team

He's been in training for more than a week. He was pictured about a week ago meeting Ogren at the indoor training centre.

Why he's never fit enough to play a run of games, but still training is anyone's guess.

Re: Kilmarnock vs United - Saturday 1st February (5.45PM)

Whatever formation or personnel we deploy, we have to start the same as we did on Sunday, the cautious, reserved approach has served us well, has us in a position where we won't be relegated or drawn into a play-off, it's given us a platform to kick on.

With 9 games until the split a win and a favourable set of results probably seals top six given all the permutations needed for us to drop out.

"Don't F*cking ever offer me that again!"

Re: Kilmarnock vs United - Saturday 1st February (5.45PM)

4 wins, 2 draws, 3 defeats, 14 points out of 27, would see us 3rd or 4th going into the split.
Got to target these 4 wins, these are vital, too many draws get you nowhere.

The next two are the hardest before the Split, on that astro and away to Celtic.

Just hope some fane keep the heid if the results are not what we hope.

Re: Kilmarnock vs United - Saturday 1st February (5.45PM)

Think we need to get three in the middle between the wing backs. Svelje and Stephenson need some support there. 3 at the back could give us that midfield 3 but that would mean 2 up front. So either Dalby and Paton with width coming from the wing backs or a winger partnering a single striker.

Need to see that energy and desire that got us positive results previously. A reset for a result that's absolutely minimum one point hopefully all 3 because if we get beat again that feelgood factor is going to take a dent.

Back 3 as decided by JG

Strain Luca Campbell Svelje Ferry
Dalby Middleton

But JG has earned our trust to pick the right personnel. Not too often I've seen negative comments about our line up before a match. Expect maybe pairing Dalby and Moult to start a match.
Very important we come away with a result on Saturday.

Edited to include the UB40 boy

Re: Kilmarnock vs United - Saturday 1st February (5.45PM)

Goodwin saying at yesterday's press conference that one or two are 50/50.

We should field a strong line up unless it's Sevelj or Stephenson otherwise we are back to square one.

Would like to see Graham and Mani in beside Gallagher at the back, just to get some energy and legs in the team.

I would start campbell in beside Sevelj,  they two I hope will form a great partnership.

We now have a we dilemma with the third man in the middle, Stephenson (my pick) , Babunski or Fiorini.

As others have pointed out we can now use Stephenson if Strain needs a we break in the RWB position.

Dalby and Paton up top.

We will have a strong bench tomorrow, and an ability to change but hopefully its not to chase the game.

Re: Kilmarnock vs United - Saturday 1st February (5.45PM)

Difficult to predict anything when the game is on that horrific carpet style pitch.
Watching the clip of Campbell scoring on it a few years ago for M'well you can clearly see how much its deteriorated over the years. It will be a great day for Scottish football when it's ripped up and banned from the the flight

Re: Kilmarnock vs United - Saturday 1st February (5.45PM)

Neither Sibbald or Docherty fit enough for tomorrow according to Goodwin.

Sibbald been back two weeks, disappointing he's still not ready for the bench.

No surprise on Docherty, obviously.

Re: Kilmarnock vs United - Saturday 1st February (5.45PM)

Tight and hard to break down for me. As much height as possible in the team.

Back to hoofball, picking up the scraps and long throws/corners.

The pitch is a disgrace. McInnes is a good manager with physical teams.

Clear foul.
Zero consistency from VAR.
I'm giving up on football.

Edit .... see this plastic pitch ....

Watkins goes for the man and then the ball.
9 times out of 10 that's a foul on the goalie.

Dinna ken what anybody else thinks, but we shouldna be getting beat fae a team that's sitting 2nd bottom.

We had 1 shot on target FFS.
