We should be pushing hard for Morrison. Was brilliant against us in the diddy cup last season and the first game of league cup group stage. He’d give us the pace we badly need, and would also hopefully push Middleton and particularly Trapanovski to hopefully play better to earn their places.
What would he realistically cost us? 100k? We could even chuck in Fotheringham or Thomson on loan for the season which would benefit all parties tbh. That’s the minimum sort of ambition we should be showing to try and secure 3rd, especially with record numbers of season tickets sold and attendances in general, surely that ain’t pushing the boat out too much when there’s potentially a pot of about £5m at stake if we finish 3rd.
We won't pay money for anyone

I wouldn’t mind LB/LCB cover like a holt who could do both.
If/when Holt goes, I’d be looking to use the 100K on a pacy striker, someone like Olusanya at St Mirren. Out of contract in the summer, would be going for him now.Agreed re O'Lasagne. I'd also take a look at Sidibeh and Kimpioka from the Sainties.
Kimpioka is out of contract in June.
Would be trying a wee bid for him, he’d eventually force the move.
Relegation at Perth saints or possible top 6/europe with us.

We also need the Dalby situation cleared up asap.

Morrison came through the youth system at Hearts (he played in the same team as Liam Smith). I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back there this window.

Cracking player, can he play either wing?If I remember rightly he played on the right against us in the Challenge Cup match. And cut in.
Cheers. Unfortunately the type of player that gets hoovered up by Hearts.
Hearts let him go

Moult / Paton / Ecky will fix it for the Terrors.
A pal of mine said this morning that when Ecky's on the pitch we're a better team even tho he's not scored a goal or indeed had a shot.

Get in there, offer him terms on a pre-contract, if he signs it, then we start considering a bid for now.

Is he out of contract in the summer though? If not then that's not an option

I thought I read on here he was.
Strange though, because if he's not, he has at least a year left, strange time to try and move him on.

He's got 18 months left unfortunately.
But i still think 150k gets him. So any Holt fee and a wee bit more on top.
A small price to pay for a player of his ability, particularly if (as Jerry Dungle stated) it helps us get European group stage football next season.
That could be transformative for us, financially.

I think he's forcing their hand rather than them trying to move him on

Morrison has done well enough to have English championship interest. Teams that could pay 3 or 4x what we could.
Plus Falkirk to UTD is hardly a big jump for him.

The voice of sense at last. Falkirk don't want to sell, don't need to sell, but reluctantly have agreed to listen to offers as the player wants to leave. There is no way they'll accept a lowball offer of £150k, and also struggle to see why the player would want to go to United when Falkirk will most likely be in premier next season.
It wouldn't be a shock if he's been tapped up by an English championship team.

United aren't going to pay 150k or thereabouts on a player who's not played a lot of top tier football, certainly not right now.
If we are to splash some cash, what about that helmet Armstrong at Killie? I'd be sounding him out for next season, make him a good offer.

Read a few weeks back hearts had offered him a pre.

Dalby replacement not needed, he's here for the European push.

Buzzing with that.

Good news all round.
Dalby and Paton will work as a two I think.

I read that Killie are very interested in him.
He is a decent player but Falkirk but not a championship player.

With the greatest of respect to those teams, I think we would be a financially better option than killie saintees and falkirk. Also believe more teams down south would look at a united player than a st johnstone player.
Cant see us splashing any cash though. Would be a freebie i think

Good news about Dalby.
Interesting that Wrexham's statement said they've offered him a new deal but he hasn't yet signed it.

Still would’ve preferred signing a centre mid back up to Fiorini. Sevelj needs a partner until Sibbald and Doch are fit.

We are really starting to suffer from Docherty & Sibbald being out at the same time.

It's got to be in the best interests of both parties that Thomson and Odada go out on loan for the rest of the season.
I would also be reaching out to any Dutch 2nd division clubs looking for the return of big VDS.
We have four days left to strengthen key areas in our squad, for me, cover for Ferry and a Centre mid.
What a chance this is to finish 3rd and possibly get some cash through the door which could transform the club.
Let's give it a go.
