Interesting interview with our new CDM.
It switches between English and Swahili, but mostly in English. Strange how some African's switch between two languages. Sometimes in the same sentence.
He reveals he is also a citizen of Serbia (where he played for Red Star Belgrade). So, him holding a European passport might be helpful in his signing. Not quite sure how the rules work post-Brexit.

Resurrecting this thread as a discussion about this boy probably merits its own thread instead of a collection of posts across several match day threads.
He was so poor today and if we have Sibbald back before the window closes I'd be inclined to put him out on loan to a struggling championship team to harden up.
I'm a big supporter of pushing aside the attitude of assuming that because someone is 6'3" they need to be a big physical presence but only so long as they have ability but he doesn't seem to be physical OR have enough going on to justify a place in the team.
I know I've just said he isn't physical enough but if I was to put in a suggestion I'd try play him as a CB, just wouldn't be keen on us being the team to try that experiment!
Would give him a bit more time on the ball, which he seems to need, and do think some of the better bits of play have been when the game has been in front of him, notice he is frequently kept back at corners and free kicks despite his size and when he picks the ball up in these positions it tends to correlate with his better choices of pass. Who knows, maybe chuck him in the deep end on loan and he starts using the physicality cause I'm no convinced he's good enough to get away wi no using it.

Got to go out on loan; for our sake, for his sake.
Out of he's depth at the moment, completely lacking self belief despite JG doing hes level best tae talk the laddie up.
Reminds me a bit of Anim Cudjoe that way.
I've yet tae see him in amongst post goal or post win bedlam yet.
Contrast that wi Manny who's right in there overjoyed and grinning a mile wide.
For me, very sorry but lacks skill lacks brutality.

I'm happy that we are giving Odada time on the pitch. He's not going to get better without it. As for sending him out on loan - he's a full international (17 caps) he's not an academy prospect! He's not going to benefit playing for Kelty Hearts...

He might benefit from regular gametime in Scottish football. It's a totally different game to what he's used to, strolling around under the Kenyan sunshine or playing soccer in the states. Scottish football is a lot more blood and thunder than he's experienced before and he needs to get up to speed in a way that's not to our detriment.

I thought right from the start yesterday a section of the support were right on Odadas back the minute anything went wrong. He will have to try and adapt to Scottish football in away games where he will get less abuse from his own fans.
Both Stephenson and Sevelj were equally as bad in the opening 30mins.

We don't have the resources or strength in depth to let someone like Odada go out on loan. Unfortunately if he's not looking like what we need he'll need to move on. For me that decision doesn't need to be made in this window.
As for vdS, he's scored goals in Holland no probs so I think he'll be fine once he breaks the duck.

Maybe some of our fans are a bit Ian Brinesy (Google it if you can't remember) but there were quite a few shouts around me late on in the game directed at Adegboyega.
"Get him aff!"
"He's stinkin!"
"He's clueless!"
Now granted, he gave the ball away a couple of times and he's made a few mistakes over the season, but fuck me, of all the players to single out if you must, it's not him.
Again though, maybe they didn't realise it wasn't Odada.
Grumpy old bastards.

I disagree with this.
For me it's was the complete opposite, Stephenson and Sevelj were nowhere near as bad imo. He was all over the place, in the short time he was on the pitch.
The fans were uneasy because he was making them uneasy, no supporter would want him not to do well.
I'm not going to pick the bones out of it but both Gallagher and Holt went over to Jim and spoke to him and were gesturing to calm down.
I think that playing in beside the captain for a few games might do the lad well, unfortunately that is something that in January we haven't seen yet due to injuries.

Probably getting the two confused. Which is a bit sad if true.

Got to say, looks like he's hanging round on the periphery to me.
Happy to be wrong, but we've neither time nor leeway to be wrong with better players on bench.

Will be surprised if Goodwin leaves him out of the starting 11 on Wednesday.
I agree with whoever said loan isn't an option. It's hit or bust for this boy. Problem is how can he gain trust with the coach and the fans if he plays badly when selected. Rubix cube.

And if they were definitely aiming it at Adegboyega it's also worrying because he was one of our better players in that match.

The lad had only started 1 and a half games for us and will need time and a run of games to see if he can evolve into a player for us.
I don't see him getting that though. I actually would put him on loan from Jan to May to a club challenging for Championship title. He signed a two year deal so he has time on his side.
Btw i agree with above that the crowd was really on his back on Sunday. He only gave the ball away a couple of times and you could hear the crowd moaning and groaning almost like they couldn't wait too.
Players like Sevelj, Docherty, Stephenson didn't get quite the same response. I think quite a few have already made their minds up about the lad. Hard to turn that perception round, not many do. Takes character.

That just magnifies the lack of options we have in there, that and the fact we need to play Sevelj again tonight despite him looking knackered on Sunday.
Big performance required frim him and hopefully he shows us something.

Well he certainly showed us something. And it wasn't something positive. Not easy for any player to shine in that fixture but doing the basics is a minimum requirement.
I'm thinking he's getting one last chance in an upcoming game and if he fails in that the lad is done here. No loans. Away.

He was poor tonight. I still think he could improve with a run of games, but i just cannot see him getting that.
I'd be very surprised if he starts against St.Mirren on Saturday.

Whenever he had been given a chance he has shown us nothing, nothing that would make me think there might be a player in there.
That's plenty for me, I've seen far too much now, unfortunately though we don't have anyone that cam help out in the middle.

Seen on social media he is getting pelters for the first goal lst night, agreed, he should have leathered it away - sevelj could have controlled that
not one critic of Walton (who has played every game) parrying it straight into the 6 yard box??
Odada is clearly not up to speed but feel like people just wait on a mistake to jump on his back

The reason these boys are getting away with is cause they’ve been really good. Walton of course should have done better but the goal comes from odada playing knee high 5 yard pass to sevelj.
I honestly cannot believe he’s an internationalist.
Him and meeshack were wasting both each others time, don’t see either of them getting much game time at all between now and the end of the season, we’d be better just have a couple of youth players in there
