How many points will we pick up?
This will test our squad to the absolute limits.
Can't afford to pick up anymore injuries or suspensions and hopefully get Docherty or Moult back towards the end of this spell.
I think 6/7 will be acceptable,am I too negative?
8 or 9 would be brilliant.
Online!
I would be happy with 6 or 7.

Been worried about this scenario for a while. Injuries playing their part but hopefully that's the same for other clubs too.
Need to dig deep, certainly looks like the support is backing the club in big numbers.

6 games in 17 days if we go up to our trip to Parkhead on 8th January. A very challenging run of games for such a small squad.
Three of those games will be in January and as such we could add new players to bolster the squad and i truly hope we do some business early, because one or two more injuries and we will really struggle.

On the transfer thread I predicted we wouldn't do any significant business but especially with Moult now out, Babunski misfiring to some extent and Docherty still out I'm now thinking we will. That's assuming we can identify and sign the right player(s).

I’m not sure we’ll see Docherty play again for us. I sincerely hope I’m wrong.

He's influential when fit but I'm guessing he's now at the stage where he's missed more than he's played.
Anyone know when his contracts up?

I hope not also but noted on Goodwins press conference this week he mentioned Sibbald (mid January) and Moult (weeks rather than months) but never even gave Docherty a mention.
He was doing light running with the squad a few weeks back, some calf strain thus is.
Edited- two minutes after this, he is in today's squad, that is why he wasn't mentioned😃

I agree, difficult to get anyone decent during this window.and especially at the start of it but we really need reinforcements.

Glad to see him back but he has to keep fit moving forward.

7 points already secured with another 6 to play for in this Christmas period.
More points before the year end than the total accumulated in 22/23.

10 points from 12, Hearts to come at home this weekend.
13 from 15 would be sensational.
Offline
Brilliant return so far during the XMAS break, as you say MC, 13 from 15 would indeed be sensational.

Regardless of how shite Hearts have been, Sunday will be a tough game.
Our players looked off it at times yesterday.
Would've bitten your hand off for 10 from 12, and the fact they came in those exact games. If it ends up being 11, 12, 13 or 14 even better.
10 still a very decent return.

Like you I would have ripped the hand off anyone if offered that.
The next 6 are extremely difficult also, only 1 from 6 at home vs Rangers.

Isn't it odd that the busiest part of the season is also the coldest.
I've been at half a dozen games since the start of December but I must admit that on Sunday there I was beginning to get fed up freezing my bazaff.
And muttering about summer football along the way.
Imagine that game v Hearts being played on a balmy summer evening in July.

Unbelievable effort from the players over this conjested period. And a fantastic points return. The players deserve great credit for what was a dangerous run of games on paper, coming out the other end in style today.
And a big shout to JG for knowing who can go again and who needs a wee rest.
I can't remember when I've seen a United side with this level of grit and determination to win games at the death. It's brilliant to watch.
Next stop Dens Park.

Of all the games we've played during the festive period what do you think ranks as our best result?

It's hard, but I'd have to say the derby, followed very closely by the sheep game. But every 3 points is as important as the next really.

A point against Celtic?
Silencing those arrogant Dons fans?
Derby delight?
Some great memories in there

Good question RMS, for me our best performance was the 0-0 vs Celtic but our best result was away at Dens.
If there is a way to win a Derby match then it's the way we done it on the 2nd January.

All the positive results have been good and we probably couldn't have picked a better 4 games to win, if we were allowed to choose, I would've swapped a win v St Mirren / Aberdeen / Dundee for 3 points at Parkhead, just to get the monkey off our back, but the bigger picture means taking the points when/where we did serves us better.
Hearts was a rotten performance.
But for me the best result/performance was v Aberdeen, we really took the game to them, kept going and shut their arrogant fans pus's big style, I was also a great one for the manager to enjoy.

Great question.
Ba' hair between them and so many similarities, champion team, 100 minute performances, bond with fans, Jim - master tactician, etc etc etc.
But for me the one that stands out is Celtic 0 v 0
Technically one of the best United perfmances Iv'e seen.
Don't know if I've ever seen United team better that performance in terms of 90 + 5 of commitment, concentration, sticking to the plan, workrate no just physically but in terms of the tension of it. Not to mention master tactician on sideline. When final whistle blew felt as much joy as the others just a different sort of joy.
Ridiculous cost of team of champions vs bond of manager, players, support making a champion team.
Like I say ba' hair between, could go on a' day.
