DUFC International Week

Kicks off tomorrow with -

David Babunski representing North Macedonia in their match away to Latvia (5PM). They then play Armenia on Sunday, also away from home and also a 5PM kick off. The North Macedonian's currently top their Nations League group which consists of them, Armenia, Latvia and the Faroe Isles.

Also tomorrow (9PM) Jort Van Der Sande will represent Bonaire in the CONCACAF Nations League in the first match of a double header against Montserrat. They are at home tomorrow and the away fixture is on Sunday at 8PM. The distance from Bonaire to Montserrat is almost 1,000km but i was curious how long the flight takes and was astonished to see it takes 15 hours. It stops in the Dominic Republic first. A lot of travelling for VDS in the next few days.

On Friday night Miller Thomson and Jack Newman will both be in the Scotland U21 squad for their home match at Tynecastle versus Belgium. This is a huge match with Scotland currently sitting 2nd in their Qualification table for the U21 European championships in Slovakia in 2025. Belgium are just behind Scotland in the table in 3rd on goal difference.

The match is free to watch on Scotland's Youtube channel and kick off is 7PM. On Tuesday they then travel to Almaty to take on Kazakhstan with a 5PM kick off. Another week of long travel for one of United's attacking players.

Also on Friday, Richard Odada is part of the Kenya squad who will travel away to Cameroon to take them on in the African Nations Cup Qualifiers. Kenya are currently top of Group J but face a tough double header against 'The Indomitable Lions' with the return tie in Kenya on Monday at 2PM.

Played the first 66 minutes....at Right back!! Macedonia won 0-3.

JVDS played the full 90 for Bonaire but they lost 0-1 at home to Montserrat. He seemed to play on the right hand side of a 4231.

Re: DUFC International Week

Watched most of the Macedonia first half  he was playing right midfield.

Played OK, nice first touch as always, retained possession just about every time he had it but overall done very little.  Very much the modern football player.

Still haven't seen him play as a 10 which is his position.

Re: DUFC International Week

Big Richard start against Mvondo Atangana's mob.

Hopefully he gets 90 minutes.

Nae sign of Jeando Fuchs, what a waste of a player.

Where is he and wee Mathew Cudjoe now?

Re: DUFC International Week

Jack Newman was an unused substitute for Scotland U21 in their 2-0 defeat at home to Belgium.

And one player I forgot to mention.

Emmanuel Adegboyega.

Made his debut for Republic of Ireland U21s on Friday at home to Norway in their 1-1 draw.

Played the full 90 and almost kept a clean sheet on his debut. Norway unfortunately equalising right at the death in the 93rd minute.

Completely agree about Fuchs. The game we beat SEVCO at Tannadice he was the best player on the park by a mile. Similar the game at Celtic Park when Harkes scored. Completely wasted his potential with poor career choices.

Too much commotion

Re: DUFC International Week

North Macedonia beat Armenia 2-0 away from home.

Babunski never played one minute though and remained on the bench.

Re: DUFC International Week

Jort Van De Sande played the full 90 for Bonaire who gained revenge on Montserrat by beating them 1-0 away from home. Their first win in Group A of CONCACAF Qualification. He again failed to get on the score sheet, albeit he seemed to play central midfield (according to the BBC anyway).

Incidentally i noticed Montserrat are Managed by Lee Bowyer, remember him?

Re: DUFC International Week

Neither Jack Newman or Miller Thomson featured in Scotland U21s 3-2 defeat in Almaty that ends their hopes of qualification to the U21 Euro Championships next year. A long flight there and back for nothing.

Manny Adegboyega played the full 90 for Ireland U21 in their 1-1 draw away to Italy. A great start to his international career for Eire.

Now hopefully all our players come back fit and after a day or two's rest are ready for Sunday.

The SFA are asleep at the wheel.

We actually have a good crop of young players, yet have achieved nothing under him.

Re: DUFC International Week

Incidentally i don't know if anyone watched the Scotland U21 game but the Kazakhstan Goalie was unbelievale.

Just checked his Transfermrkt and he's out of contract at the end of December. Very, very impressive tonight.

Temirlan Anarbekov. Currently plays for Zhenis Astana in the Kazakh top tier. Well worth keeping an eye on.
