It'll be the same team as last week, regardless of whether or not we like it.

Too much commotion

Because we know more than him?

Maybe we should be picking out a fan from the crowd to be manager for the day?

I was player/manager of a Midlands Amateur team in the 80s & 90s, I've applied for the DUFC Manager's position on 19 occasions & have never even received one acknowledgement, never mind an interview.

Great 3 points

Adegboyega had his best game for us.  Big Ross Graham solid as a rock and another vital goal.  Thought Sibbald more like his old self today.

Cracking victory. You can see the Hearts are struggling but we still had to match them up.
Every player knows his job. Hardworking resilient great out of possession and this side has a goal throughout the team make no mistake.
No failures today every man a warrior deserved the 3 points in the end and these players look like there's a real bond growing see the celebration at the final whistle.
They all did great but thought Manny Ode was magnificent, growing in every game now.

Excellent result.

Don't care about the form table, an away win at Hearts is always a tough ask.

We might have again looked poor going forward but another clean sheet and another 3 points. Defensively absolutely excellent today.

All the sweeter for me that it's a member of our Academy who's not been flogged after a single appearance who's scored the winner (again).

Think we'll get better with decision making in the final third but what I fucking love about this team is the heart desire and  team ethic.  Early days but unbeaten in 3rd and still in the LC despite our weird start to it.
And we've not even properly clicked yet.
See today that formation and defence kept them at bay never gave them clear opportunities.  Ok it sacrifices an attacker but it's working a treat.

Re: Hearts vs Utd - Sunday 1st September (3PM)

Good result against a demoralised Hearts.

Don't think we are playing a formation that is leading to us create many chances from open play, but the flip side is we aren't having many chances created against us either. It's a tough one as that's 8 games unbeaten (9 if we include Luton), 3 clean sheets in a row and 3 wins in a row. A great turnaround after the disastrous performance against Falkirk on opening day.

Still think we aren't quite getting the best out of this team, in terms of allowing Babunski, Trapanovski etc to get forward and create chances for VDS.

But as long as we are winning, i suppose most wont care too much about this.

Fingers crossed now that everyone comes back from International week unscathed and then a tough game against a wounded Rangers, which will give us a good indicator of where we really are as a club.

Final word for big Ross Graham. Thought he was finished at Utd about 6 months ago. Took his chance (alongside Sam McLelland) when Gallagher and Holt got injured and hasn't looked back. Now looking like the player he was when he first burst on the scene, in fact he's looking better than that. Turning into a good, solid Pro who is developing into a good player for us. That's twice he's turned his career around at Tannadice.

Big credit to the lad. Onwards and upwards for him now.

Agree about big Ross been fantastic last few games. Helps when played in his preferred position and having a refreshed Gallacher and Adegboyega in that 3 is definitely helping him and the CDM in front adds that extra layer. It's no coincidence that our improved results have come with Holt in there.

Not sure that the Rangers result will give us a good indication of where we are as a club though because regardless of that result it's not going to change the fact that we're a work in progress. Still not 100 percent clicking up front like you describe and it's probably not changing against Rangers. What HAS changed is that we now have intelligent footballers who can control a ball, take it in and find a team mate. Oh yes and Watt is away.

Re: Hearts vs Utd - Sunday 1st September (3PM)

As I have said, more than happy to see that formation in hard away games and as someone said above Jambos away is always a hard away game.  Couldn't get a ticket, but longer the game went on without conceding the more I'm thinking we're going to nick one at the other end.  Great win.

Delighted for Ross.  'Mon the Blair' Baresi!

Rangers is a big one.  We can keep our undefeated status and maybe extend our winning run as they are nothing special.

Re: Hearts vs Utd - Sunday 1st September (3PM)

Delighted with the start to the season. We have definitely been lucky with the fixture list, but we have done very well and could easily have 12 points in the bag if we had managed the other 2 games a little bit better.

Hope Docherty is going to be back after the break and as good as he was. I think he could be the key to us finding a balance between staying solid at the back and being more creative.

Very interested to see how we perform in the next game at home to The Rangers.

Re: Hearts vs Utd - Sunday 1st September (3PM)

Not a lot more to add, it's just great when we are doing well.

Team are starting to look solid and that's the most important thing, there's a fight in them which I love.

When Shankland got into a wee pushing game, none of them backed down.

Harder weeks are ahead, tougher fixtures especially the OF but 8 points on the board is a great start.
