It is a shame that he didn't work out as he had something about him, but I think he was lucky to have a new contract offer to be honest.

He was no Jerren Nicon

The Utd statement regarding his departure was rather curt to put it mildly.

No thanks or best wishes. Bit poor imo, bit classless.

The wee man gave 100% and played his small part in getting us back to the Prem.

Don't really blame him for moving on either, don't think Goodwin ever utilised him properly.

Perhaps he was a bit of a cock behind the scenes? Maybe he didn't get the best wishes because he had a shite attitude and thought he was a lot better than he is. Just saying like

United have done this before and it has pretty much always been with players who have had some kind of an attitude problem or who have tried to screw the club in some way during contract negotiations. He had decent ability and brought something different to the team but the fact that Goodwin gave him very limited playing time is pretty telling, I think. My guess is his attitude wasn't what Goodwin is looking for.

Seems the most plausible explanation to me. I'll forget him easily anyway, Dundee United will always be first and foremost over any player that wants to leave for greener pastures.

We need a Striker surely?

Moult gets injured (a strong possibility) then there's only really Watt.

Reckon McLeod will go on loan.

Yeah, we probably do.  I was hoping my comment about "a decent team with a lot of unproven kids as back up" would show that those positions in my list would give us a decent starting 11 only.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

Told anyone who'd listen that he was going to Celtic then Chelsea.
No issue with ambition whatsoever but try being a mainstay in a Scottish Championship side before you claim you're going to play champions league.

Re: Summer transfer window 2024

Great technical players from that part of the World. If he can handle the physicality of Scottish Football then we could be on to a winner with Vicko.

Good interview with him on club Youtube channel. Liked him saying he wants to impress the supporters immediately, starting on Saturday vs Brechin. That's the attitude i like.

Btw, first Croatian to play for Utd? Think he is.

Great attitude in the interview, got a good feeling about him, looks a unit.

Apparently the second Dragutin Ristic, signed from Falkirk, played 1 game, fingers crossed this lad is better 😂

Re: Summer transfer window 2024

Just looking at the departures in your Signings 24/25 post TEK & what hit me was numbers 8-11, all gone in one fell swoop. Sad really, that was once the core of the future. And whatever happened to  number 4?

Ristic played a lot more than 1 game.

Great signing for us. Meant to have been really good for St. Mirren the last couple years, had bother with injury last season but hopefully that’s behind him now. Still lots to do, but I’m quite excited by our business so far. Bit of imagination went into some of these signings rather than just your typical run of the mill SPL signings.

Re: Summer transfer window 2024

100% going three at back, both full backs we’ve signed a proper attack wing backs, looking forward to watching this team

Re: Summer transfer window 2024

Spoke to a couple of St,Mirren supporters. Think Strain is a good player, but also think he's a sicknote.

Read elsewhere he's only been available for 54% of matches in his 3 years in Paisley. That's not good at all.

Hopefully his injuries are behind him, but i'm cautious on this signing, and all our signings so far.

Would like a good few attacking signings in now (and a NO.1 and a cover LB).

2 years in Paisley( signed in June 22) and 64 appearances altogether ( Not bad going), was out with a groin injury from September and came back towards the end of the season. Currently away with the Australian national squad. I think you're being a bit negative about the guy tbh, anyone can get injured at any time.

If we go three at back, Middleton would be a decent wingback.

I'm just saying what St.Mirren's fans are saying, as fact (they watched him after all).

Injured a lot and when he does play often only lasts 60/70 minutes.

I did say they thought that aside he was a good player, so not sure how i'm being negative?

Doubt it.

When McMann got injured last season Goodwin played Middleton there rather Holt. Hardly a glowing endorsement.

We need another LB. We got rid of Flynn Duffy too remember. So, very short in that area.

Well to start with you've said he's only been available for 54% of games in 3 years, given he was only there for two years then that percentage is surely much higher. As I said,64 appearances in 2 seasons could be a lot worse.

And as far as I can see,it was one injury that kept him out for 6 months, that's hardly injury prone.

That was my mistake. I thought he'd been there 3 years, not two. And it was only last season he was only available for 54% of appearances. So, that does put a better reflection on things.

I am a bit concerned that a few said he often looks knackered by 60/70 minutes, but i guess time will tell on that one. He certainly has the pedigree.

Apparently he was player of the month last August before his injury. I think we are getting a good player, but like with all of them we just hope he stays clear of further injuries. Fingers crossed 🤞.  I an encouraged so far with the signings, and of course we need a few more in too. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
