Just watched the YouTube highlights. It looked like a thoroughly sound thrashing.
I was surprised to see Docherty playing as I was told in unequivocal terms on here last week  that he was injured.

Touchy fucker aren't you? You were told he went off holding his leg which he did, obviously we got him off early enough. Still doesn't change the fact we shouldn't be risking injury to key players in a tin pot 20 grand trophy

Re: Partick vs Utd - Saturday 21st October

Couple of positive reviews for Watt on this.  Was away so couldn't make the game.  Whilst the jury is still out for me on him, good to see that there must be some signs that he is improving.  What worries me about him is the lack of goals.  Odd that we score 5 and not one by a forward or forward thinking midfielder.  If Watt isn't battering in the goals in this division then he is definitely surplus to requirements if we get promotion which continues to beg the question as to why Jim seems to be bending over backwards for him.

For those at the game, did the forward line play well and just line up goals for others or was it another average performance for them?

At the game Finn and I thought it was Moult's worst in a tangerine jersey so far however I thought it was Watt that set up McMann.

We never really had a failure on the pitch though, Watt probably had his best game so far. He clipped the bar, set up Middleton who should have done much better.

So although Watt never scored he did put in a good shift and was a bit unselfish at times in setting up teammates.

These guys though are the ones who need to step up when it's tight (Raith away) and be the difference between 0 points and 1 or 1 point and three.

Both are matchwinners in this division.

I think what you can probably take from the comments that we'll need to improve on the Moult/Watt partnership next year but should be fine for promotion - which is probably where I am.  I just don't see Watt being the answer to any Premiership question.
