Re: Ayr vs Utd

Freeman OUT too.

Walton

Denham
Gallagher
Holt
McMann

Grimshaw
Meekison

Middleton
Watt
Fotheringham

Moult

Unfortunately, I think we'll lose this one. Not so much because we have players missing, but more because our record down there is absolutely terrible. Their support always get right behind them and in previous Championship years we always seemed to just collapse under the pressure.

If I'm proved wrong here (and I really hope I'm wrong), it'll make a big statement about our ability to be title favourites.

2-0 Ayr.

Too much commotion

Why would you leave out Cudjoe?

Re: Ayr vs Utd

If Cudjoe is doubtful and Mochrie fit that's an easy switch for me and Mochrie can play more centrally and provide a (little) bit of defensive support.  I've not seen much of Gallacher or Holt to know if they can control play from a little deeper (my assumption is not) so we need to put someone in the CDM hole and hope that the more attacking midfielders can keep the ball up that end.  Whilst the lad Denham didn't look a natural centre half to me, he did look more comfortable with the ball at his feet than Holt.  I'd be tempted to ask him to play a Matic type role in front of the centre halves and see what he can do.  I did think McMann could do that but I think for shape he's better left where he is.  So for me:

Walton

Grimshaw
Holt
Gallagher
McMann

Denham

Fotheringham
Mochrie
Meekison
Middleton

Moult

Fuck sake didn't see that. What the fuck is going on with our training? Are they doing cage fighting or something? Absolute joke how many injuries we've got, the squad is paper thin! One or two more signings is not gonna cut it, we need at least 4 or we are winning fuck all.

Re: Ayr vs Utd

Not sure what 11 Goodwin will put out but it's time for some to step up snf rake their chance.

Big performance required from the likes of Watt,Archie and Glass if we are down on numbers.

It's a squad game and no doubt Ayr will be missing a few.

2 nil United, King Louis with a brace

Re: Ayr vs Utd

Think it's time to see if our much vaunted Academy players can step-up to the plate. It's Ayr in the 2nd tier after all, not Celtic at Parkhead.

I'd keep the back four the same, so wouldn't put Grimshaw in midfield.

Grimshaw.....Gallagher....Holt....McMann
Fotheringham..Glass..Mochrie..Middleton

Yip 100%.

Gotta get some strength into the middle and play Grimshaw in there and stick Denham into right back.

Highlights just how thin the squad is.

Seen TEK said that Doch was back training, not wanting to rush him back but you never know.

yep him and Glass in the centre with Watt playing 10. Make or Break for glass tomorrow. 23 now needs  to prove he can play at this level

I would play Mochrie before Glass. We know Glass will be completely ineffectual.
Better seeing if Mochrie who has a bit of experience in the league below can make the step up.

Re: Ayr vs Utd

Goodwin not sounding too positive in terms of signings coming in.

Re: Ayr vs Utd

The line up I saw, he was in. Then told by someone else he’s dropped for disciplinary reasons (missing the bus to training) but I’m not sure I believe that

Glass in the engine room with Docherty means its not just about fancy turns on the edge of the box its also about tracking runners and winning the ball back. His lack of pace and pysicality worries me

Is Glass upto it? we shall see

Watt also needs to start justifying that 6K a week and produce on the park

Cheers again, I guess we'll see later if there's anything in that.

I at least feel better that we can keep our strongest back line and with Docherty back we have our spine intact. Not sure Declan Glass is the answer but will be delighted to be proved wrong.
