Doubt he will be back given what his family are experiencing at the minute.
Gallagher on the face of it looks like a good signing.

This wasnt the case last season, has it changed see Newman and Peterhead

Was more of a joke that we’ve nae chance of getting through to the knockouts haha

Ah, just some lightweight scanning of the forum on my part 🤷♂️

A short gap signing who should add a bit of steel and experience to Graham and the young Welsh lad.
Think that's us until.we offload a couple of our high earners from last season.

We expecting any more before the league starts?

Would like to see a winger (or two) in the door. Someone who is direct with a bit of pace ideally. Would be happy to lose Middleton and/or Niskanen and replace them. Surely be on higher wages than most

100% need width / a live wire type.
I’m not sure our young guys can provide that.

Didn’t think I would say this but (not inc Spartans cause I didn’t see it) McMann has been fairly decent going forward at least. Defensively he should improve but it’s an outlet going forward. If Watt knew how to defend when out on the left they’d be able to swap consistently and confuse these jobbers in this awful league.

Pleased to hear that McMann is improving. For those not there, he was absolutely bowfing going forward against Spartans and wasn't that great in the few things he had to do defensively either.
It does look as if Spartans was just one of those too early back games. Whilst we have been very average with an obvious lack of creativity since, we do seem to now look like a team who deserve to be in the Championship!

Agreed, the young lad Stuart McKinstry would be a good signing or for more experience, Ilkay Durmuz who was at St Mirren a couple of seasons ago is also free of contract.

Hearts fans seem to reckon Alan Forrest is surplus to requirements there. Would be a brilliant upgrade on Niskanen if we can get him out the door.

Agreed but I'm sure he'll get better offers

We need to get bodies out before we can get any more is my understanding.

Seems a pretty safe bet. With mulgrew, spaghetti and behich still on the wage bill, I think it's going to be hard to do anything else.
With no knowledge...I'd guess mulgrew has been made and offer and is playing hard ball. Brightside will be desperate to leave and still has a strong enough reputation to go back to oz and behich (although I know he has family issues) may wish to be closer to home too.
Fingers crossed. Don't fancy paying 2 imposters for a season of bench warming.
I've no hard feelings for behich but don't see any permutations where he will be happy playing in the championship

Ayr apparently trying to sign Logan Chalmers

Let's throw in Birighitti and 20 grand, that should swing it 👍

Behich is signing for Melbourne City. No word on whether we’re getting a transfer fee or not.

Inevitable, but still a pisser. He would have torn up this division.
Hopefully we get a token fee and that complimented with Aziz's high wage being freed up will result in another signing.

Behich was a talented player but I'm not sure the industrial nature of the 2nd tier would have suited him.
Hopefully it allows JG to bring in a robust replacement.

See I’m not so sure. I was never overly impressed with Behich in a United shirt. Great for Australia in the World Cup, but I never saw him do much for us. Had one or two games where he was a 7/8 out of 10, but also had plenty where he was a 4/5.
His man marking was lackadaisical and he cost us a lot of goals not tracking his man at the back post. He was hopeless in a back 4, which is JG’s preferred defensive structure, and was very ineffective when pushed to LW, albeit he had a lot going on at home at that point.
I think a lot of people formed their opinion on him based on what they saw in the World Cup, rather than anything he ever did for United, because on the whole I thought he was extremely underwhelming other than about 2 or 3 decent games. Don’t doubt he’d be a good player for somebody, but wasn’t suited to Scottish football at all.

Bit of a difference between the two. Behich’s mrs recently had cancer and is currently in remission then his mother in law was diagnosed. Just wants to go home and be closer to family, which is completely fine under the circumstances.

Mulgrew gone too?
Happy with this. Whether fairly or not, he was implicated in the disaster at the start of the season and the end of jack ross' tenure.
A situation we never recovered from.
Hopefully between he a behich, we save a ton of cash and can sign a couple of extra players. I'd take any position but would love a bit of creativity
