Utd vs Peterhead - Sat 22/7/23

What XI and formation would you like to see for what is now, essentially, just a pre-season friendly?

I’d go with something like that, possibly Thomson or McLeod in place of Middleton who has been particularly louping these last two games.

This is anything but a pre season friendly for the manager. He would be well advised not to lose yet another game..

I believe this might potentially be our strongest XI, and a formation/system/tactics that's not too difficult to put over, but If we had any other options, Middleton would be benched.

Too true.

Would he survive his 8th loss on the spin, considering the level of opposition in the last 8 games?

Possibly, but his job would already be under massive threat before a ball is kicked in anger in the Championship.

peterhead are the worse team in scottish football and on a death spiral, our u18 teams would beat them, no way we are not winning Tommorow its just a case of how well the players perform

I think we are competing with Falkirk for Scotlands biggest Banter club, should have a Trophy ready next Tuesday

Re: Utd vs Peterhead - Sat 22/7/23

Anyone arsed about this today?
Goodwin’s post match interview midweek suggested he doesn’t, why should we? If his only focus is on the league then fine, but they words better ring true away to Arbroath onwards.

Another defeat will resonate a lot more than a hollow victory tbh. But just getting more time into the legs of Moult and others is useful I suppose, so long as we have no injuries. A clean sheet would be fucking welcome too.

Re: Utd vs Peterhead - Sat 22/7/23

Let's see what happens but Goodwin has correctly dropped the players who were pish against Thistle. Freeman , Glass, Cudjoe & Denham.

Re: Utd vs Peterhead - Sat 22/7/23

1-0 United ht. found a link for the game on the iptv, wasn’t paying £10 or going.

We’ve played some decent stuff, need to be more clinical though.

Re: Utd vs Peterhead - Sat 22/7/23

A victory. A clean sheet and a Louis Moult goal on his first start. A decent days work.

Let's use that as a springboard and go to Falkirk on Tuesday and get another win.

Don’t know how we played but a 3-0 win will Surely give us a bit of confidence.

Be interested to hear how we played from those who watched the match.

Re: Utd vs Peterhead - Sat 22/7/23

Well that was the gehm it was, and hats aff to them the day.

And that kinda answers Snacks question, pretty well, both before and efter the subbies. Strange turn oe events. Mind ye it was Peterheed we were playing.

Eh was calling Holt "Halt"  on Tuesday coz the number oe times he stopped going forward and passing backardies and sidee-wiys. But he was mair in touch the day. Was a wee but shocked to see him gettin to tak the Penalties, but mind he did tak them sometimes fir the sh1tebags across the road. Wha woulda guessed an ex BNB scoring twa fir us !

Walton made a couple oe good saves, nae doubt.

The young lads were hungry to hae a go the day, nae doubt about it.

MOTM for me Grimshaw, best oe the subs Sibbald.
