Not a rumour but Joe Lewis has been released from the SSB.

He would do a job at Championship level for us.

He's finished.

Been on the slide for 2/3 years.

After what we've just been put through he's gonna look like Thibaut Courtois

This is very true, if he can stand in the middle of his goal, catch the odd shot, blooter away pass backs then that's an improvement.

It's an extremely low bar all the same 😀

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

The bar could be a low as you like and Birighitti would still get lobbed.

Heard that too. Fans of Broughty Athletic are furious, apparently.

Broughty Athletic already have a competent keeper so he would not get a game there.

Also the pie kiosk staff are more competent at their job than that Australian clown would be.

So that's another role he is unsuitable for trying out.

Ask Birighitti for a hot pie and tea and receive them stone cold and uncooked.

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

2-1 win should have been more created fair amount of chances and missed a pen, holt looks good at centre half, mcmann and Freeman are honking- won’t win league with them at full back, chalmers Duffy odonnell all v good when they came on, striker needed so badly Rory McLeod and miller Thompson had a thankless task all game

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

The Aussie was also nowhere to be seen today

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

Apparently our next 3 targets are: Goalie, Right Back and Striker.

Would feel a lot more confident if we filled them roles with decent players. Freeman and Macleod would also be good squad players too for next season.

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

IMO, we can sign as many players as possible.

But, if we don’t rectify this GK situation then it’ll be a shambolic window

100%! Need a strong defence in this league and if the defence have no confidence in who’s behind them it all goes tits up quickly

I think if signings are at a minimum then signing a Right Back is a waste of a wage.

We already have Grimshaw and Freeman there who will both be fine at this level. And probably someone from Academy as cover.

I'd much rather we sign TWO Goalkeepers and TWO Strikers.

That is where we are really starved of options.

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

Came on Saturday at left back for mcmann, from what I saw I’d start him against Spartans

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

Goodwin mentioned how good Duffy was in his interview, should be getting a chance on Saturday IMO. McMann has let us down too many times.

Freeman won't be fine at any level. When he gets emptied from Tannadice he will be heading for the  Juniors. Him and Birighitti are two of the worst players I've seen at Tannadice.

Honestly can't remember which side of the defence he played on.

He's left back.

Got a few options there with Flynn, McMann and Holt.

Behich won't be back. But that's still 3 good LBs at our level.

Sign some Goalies and Strikers, Goodwin.

On Goalies, i noticed Ipswich signed another Keeper (Scottish U21 Keeper from Man City).

That now makes Goodwin's old No.1 at St.Mirren (Vaclav Hladky) potentially 3rd choice there. He is way too good a Keeper to be 3rd choice. Go get him on loan. Be a great signing.

Harsh. Still young enough to come good.

Dillon had plenty of good games for us too and was a great servant to the club.

Whoever these jobbers are trying to whore out Joe Lewis. Us, St. Mirren, Livi and Forest Green, coaching and just out right retirement.
