Re: Summer Transfer Window Rumours - Thread

Rumoured that Charles Dunne is all but done. A player Jim had under him previously and tried to sign at Aberdeen. Just released by St Mirren.

Solid enough signing. Better than Mulgrew and Graham anyway.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Rumours - Thread

Here's ArabTrust's summary from the DUSG meeting:

In attendance from the club - Mark Ogren, Jimmy Fyffe, Joe Rice, Luigi
Capuano, Blessed One.

1. Mark Ogren is fully committed to the club. He is thankful to the fans
for their incredible support. Need the support to continue.

2. He is the owner of the club and takes full responsibility for the
situation we are now in.

3.  Tony Asghar left in March 2023. Revolution Sports will all be gone
by 1st July. Ricardo, Sean McGee etc. They are still around the club due
to contractual agreements. Jimmy Fyffe asked that all supporters group
advise their members that Revolution Sports are away from the club.

4. Jimmy Fyffe is staying on and despite relegation is positive about
what changes are being made behind the scenes.

5. Jim Goodwin will recruit all players initially as he did at Alloa and
St Mirren. In time recruitment team will grow. No Sporting Director will
come in.

6. Jimmy Fyffe said Jim Goodwin is very strict with the players and
there are no "favourites"

7. The club will recruit players by not giving them 3 year deals. For
example if they sign a centre half this summer it's with a view to
getting us promoted. Then if we do it will be assessed if the guy is
capable of getting another deal for being in the Premiership

8. Mark Ogren "hoping" we bounce straight back.

9. Elite Academy status to remain.

10. St Andrews to still be training base.

11. Players moving out (or not) will not hinder recruitment of new
players

12. 4 pre season matches planned for in Scotland

13. Mark Ogren realises he will need to support the club financially
given the effect relegation will have on the club.

Good to hear number 7.

We can't be lumbered with a 'Championship Team' when we return to the Premiership.

1 year deals and if you don't like it, don't sign.

Earn the right to stay longer.

I wasn't unhappy with any of that, tbh. Sounds like Ogren might have taken responsibility for the Revolution gong show and will be putting more of his own money in as a result, which maybe hadn't originally been his intention at this stage. Also happy that there won't be interference on the signings front, so the team on the park will be Jim Goodwin's team and the buck stops with him.

He’s got a good track record of signing players, it’s getting them playing well that was the problem

Got ahin crossed Jim can turn it round at United

Any idea who the pre season games are against? Seen Queen of the South mentioned last week.

No doubt a fife or angus club will be in there. Hoping for East Fife myself, only 15 mins in the car.

Yeah, haven't seen anyone other than the first team player who were out of contract.

Do you know who they all were.?

Re: Summer Transfer Window Rumours - Thread

Now that Partick Thistle are confirmed as staying down, we should go and take Scott Tiffoney and Kyle Turner off them since they’re both out of contract. Tiffoney’s the exact type of direct winger that loves running at defenders that we need in the championship, and Turner would be a good Levitt replacement for when he inevitably leaves this summer

Both will likely get better offers I'd imagine

Re: Summer Transfer Window Rumours - Thread

Robbie Deas signed for Kilmarnock on a 2 year deal following the expiry of his ICT contract.

Can't help but feel this is one we should've been in for... Similarly, Joe Shaugnessy has joined Dundee. A player I would have taken

The reality is that we are in the fizzy pop league now and other clubs will look more attractive. I'm sure we have targets in mind all the same, and one of them had better be our new number 1 goalie

S*n sport reporting we’ve approached Charles Dunne.

Very underwhelmed with this.

St.Mirren fans can't wait to see the back of him.

Kai Kennedy released by Sevco. Quick, tricky winger with decent delivery. Get him snapped up.

Played 33 games for St Mirren in the premiership helping them get 6th, surely he could do a job in the league below. He’s 30 as well so he’s well experienced too.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Rumours - Thread

On Facebook so always took with a pinch of salt, but I’ve seen us linked with Robby Mccrorie the newco reserve keeper and Jay Henderson the St Mirren player.

McCrorie would be an excellent signing anyway.

Again.

Guys like Watt, Harkes etc 'helped' us get 4th last season. So, i wouldn't use league placing as a yard stick of success. Plenty shite players play for Top 6 sides.
