As said above, Both Finn Robson and Adam Hutchison started and played the full 90 minutes for Forfar, in their 0-1 away success in Coatbridge against Albion Rovers, in League Two on Sat (28/1).  Robson (who played LM) scoring the all important winner. On-Loan Utd attacker Darren Watson was also a 78th minute substitute for Forfar.

The win puts the Loons up two places to fifth and they are now on the precipice of the Play-Off spots after an indifferent season.

Also in League Two on Sat (28/1), Stirling Albion defeated Stranraer 1-0 at home, to keep them 2nd in the Division and on the tails of leaders Dumbarton. Kai Fotheringham played the full 90 on the left wing. Flynn Duffy however was an unused substitute.

Moving up a Division to League One now and Peterhead suffered a 3-1 home reversal to QoTS. Layton Bisland came off the bench for them on the 80th minute and was subsequently booked and his team conceded the killer 3rd within 2 minutes. Former Utd target, Ugandan Defender, Enock Walusimbi was an unused substitute for the home side.

Peterhead remain rooted to the bottom of the table and look destined for relegation this season.

Elsewhere in League One, Chris Mochrie started for Dunfermline in their 1-1 away draw to Clyde. Mochrie started in the unusual position of RW but was subbed off at half time. Dunfermline nonetheless remain top of the Division.

Just below them in 2nd place is their fierce rivals Falkirk. Who won 2-1 away to fellow title contender Edinburgh City in the proverbial 'Six pointer'. Archie Meekison climbed off the bench to make his debut for The Bairns, but was then himself subbed off in the 96th minute, presumably injured.

Moving to League Two in England and Logan Chalmers was a 74th minute substitute for Mickey Mellon's Tranmere Rovers in their 1-0 home win vs Leyton Orient. The win puts the Merseysiders up to 13th in the division and still within touching distance of the Play-Off's.

And finally for this weekend, moving back North of the Border and into the Lowland League.

Gala Fairydean Rovers defeated Cumbernauld Colts 1-0 at home to move them up to 9th in what is an ultra-competitive division.

Ruairidh Adams played the full 90 in between the sticks for Gala and kept his side a precious clean sheet, but it was a poorer afternoon for Jacob Comerford who unfortunately remained an unused sub for the men from Cumbernauld.

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

Young lad saw Robson a few weeks ago for Forfar and said he was good. His pal went to the Albion Rovers game on Saturday and said he was outstanding.

Tony Watt played the opening 79 minutes for St.Mirren in their 2-1 away defeat at Motherwell on Wed (15/2). It was the Lanarkshire sides first win in 12 Premiership matches and moved them two places up in the Premiership to 9th.

Watt is yet to score for the Paisley side in his 3 appearances.

The previous evening (Tues 14/2) in League Two, Flynn Duffy played the full 90 for Stirling Albion in their 2-1 away victory at Bonnyrigg Rose. The win cements 'the Binos' 2nd place spot, just 4 points behind leaders Dumbarton (and with a game in hand).

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

On Sat (4/3/23) -

England's League Two - Logan Chalmers was an unused substitute for Tranmere Rovers in their disappointing 1-1 home draw with relegation haunted Hartlepool Utd. Mickey Mellon's men sit exactly half way in the table (12th out of 24), miles from relegation, but also out of reach of the Play-Off's.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Scottish Championship - Declan Glass was once again an unused substitute for Cove Rangers, this time in their 0-2 home defeat to Dundee.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Scottish League One - Chris Mochrie started for Dunfermline in their 2-0 home win against Alloa. He was subbed off after 74 minutes. The Pars remain top of the division.

Layton Bisland was not in the squad for Peterhead in their 5-0 trouncing away at Falkirk. Former Utd target, Ugandan defender, Enock Walusimbi was again an unused substitute for the 'Blue Toon' who remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

Scottish League Two -

Adam Hutchison and Finn Robson both started for Forfar Athletic in their 3-2 away defeat a East Fife. Robson on the score sheet to put Forfar ahead, but later subbed off after 73 minutes. The experienced Alan Trouten giving the Fifers a very late win, to massively dent the team from Angus's Play-Off hopes. Incidentally, Darren Watson was not in the Forfar squad. Presumably injured?

Flynn Duffy played the full 90 minutes in Stirling Albion's 3-2 home win against Albion Rovers. They remain in 2nd place, 5 points behind leaders Dumbarton, but with two games in hand.

Scottish Lowland League -

Jacob Comerford was an unused substitute for Cumbernauld Colts in their 2-2 away draw at Murray Park against Rangers B team. The Lanarkshire team currently sit 13th out of a 19 team league.

Yeah I thought he was a step above all the other players on the park. Would have liked to have seen more of him as this is a big season coming up for him.

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

Forfar supporters I know saying that Hutchison and particularly Robson have went right off the boil the last few weeks as Forfars play-off's push evaporated. Robson was described as 'hiding'. Watson just back though from injury and looked ok on Saturday.

Went to the Utd reserves match against Motherwell on Tuesday (it was in East Kilbride).

Thought Robson and (particularly) Watson were poor. I can't see the latter making it, i'm afraid to say.

Not at any good level anyway.

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

Declan Glass scored tonight for Cove Rangers.

But it was to no avail as the Aberdeen side lost 2-1 at home to 10 man Greenock Morton and suffered relegation from the Scottish Championship as a result.

Worth noting for balance that for the most part, Hutchison and particularly Robson were seemingly excellent for Forfar on loan. It was just the last 4 weeks that their levels dropped (Robson's more than Hutchison).
