Given recent reffing and VARing performances surely it is OK to even up the numbers?

Subbies: Djoum for Sibbald (60 mins)
               Levitt for Sibbald (60 mins)
Niskanen off (65 mins), replaced by nobody
Smith for McMann (89 mins, 1-0 down, leave Cudjoe, Anaku, McLeod and Fotheringham on the bench)

So McMann is a right back now? Thank fuck none of us actually picks the team 🤣

For me he's a full back and he can play with either foot. I wouldn't move Niskanen from where he played last week and I think McMann has been playing better than Smith.

So you want us to start with a 19yo right sided centre back that's never played a full professional game and have him flanked by a guy who's never played as a right back? Good luck

#Canadian Arab out! 😋

In my defence, we've tried playing Smith (an experienced right back) outside Edwards (an even more experienced centre half) about 100 times, and it hasn't worked once. On that basis, what do we have to lose?

Knowing that Killie like their long high balls over the top, a big back 3 seems like a decent idea. McMann tends to stay at home and would give cover to the new lad. On the other side, Niskanen's overlapping would let Middleton drift into more central scoring positions. Plus, we know Graham can hit those diagonals for Freeman. Maybe the new lad could hit the same balls for Niskanen? Alternatively, if McMann came inside onto his left foot and hit one or two of those diagonals to Niskanen or Middleton, the ball would naturally curve more up the line - easier for Niskanen or Middleton to get onto. Also, both Freeman and Niskanen like to slide the ball hard and low across the penalty spot, which I think gives us the best chance of getting a quality finish on target.

I'll have you know a lot of thought went into my starting 11.

Apart from the bit where I had a starting 12.

like it

Hearing McGrath has a hamstring problem.

I put Cudjoe in his place. Don't want Djoum anywhere near the side. Awful player.

Re: Utd v Killie - Scottish Cup 5th Round - Sat 11/2/23

Kilmarnock have NEVER beaten Dundee United at Tannadice in the Scottish Cup. They also haven't any win at Tannadice full stop in 8 years.

Just looking at our previous matches and as bad as our record may be at Rugby Park, there's is even worse in Dundee. We have absolutely destroyed them countless times in recent years, including a 4-0 (twice), 5-1 and a 5-2.

Let's take even just the last 10 years.

11 fixtures
9 Utd wins
1 draw
1 defeat

Aggregate score - Utd 32 Killie 11

Hopefully not building us up for a massive fall here, but Killie don't seem to travel to Dundee well, for whatever reason.

Re: Utd v Killie - Scottish Cup 5th Round - Sat 11/2/23

I have to be honest here and admit that I have very little appetite for this game.

The manager just can't get a tune out of these players and we have absolutely 0% chance of winning the cup.

Hes fucking useless but we are well passed the time for change so we are lumped with this nodding dog.

Don't play Fletcher tomorrow, keep him for the league. If he gets injured we are as well packing it in this season. Give Sanat and young Matthew a game and see what they have got.

Re: Utd v Killie - Scottish Cup 5th Round - Sat 11/2/23

We've seen some good performances under fox but also some shite.
It's a game we can win so I'll be in my usual seat tomorrow, hopefully the minutes applause for Billy Thomson won't be the only time I'm out of the seat.

Fox confirming that we are not looking to add to the squad with out of contract signings.

Fucking unbelievable.

It certainly does feel that after the Jack Ross sacking, Ogren has decided no more money will be out layed on Utd and any transactions will be going one way only. Into his pocket.

Suicidal stuff, given the Souttar fee. Even a tiny fraction of that could really have bolstered our squad.

Fox needs removed, a complete amateur who should have never ever been appointed.

Re: Utd v Killie - Scottish Cup 5th Round - Sat 11/2/23

That was the first time Kilmarnock have ever beaten Utd at Tannadice in the Scottish Cup in our 113 year history.

Mark Ogren, enough is enough. End this charade NOW. Tonight.

Or we will suffer dire consequences as a club. On your watch

Re: Utd v Killie - Scottish Cup 5th Round - Sat 11/2/23

A poor performance, anyone can see that. Some tight margins though, Smith and Behich both hit the bar and the team rallied late.

That said, there can be no glossing over the fact that wasn't good enough today.

Re: Utd v Killie - Scottish Cup 5th Round - Sat 11/2/23

Had to force myself to go to this today.

First half dire. Second better, Behich made a big difference , great shot and unlucky. If only !

Sibbald , Fletcher, Behich were good, Cudjoe no bad at times and think the new young lad shows promise, pity about the sending off though. Some dire stuff from others. Oh well, League is the thing that matters.
