Re: January Transfer Deadline Day Thread

I’ve no problem at all with Watt going. I’m actually quite glad he is.

But he shouldn’t have been allowed to go until his replacement was sorted. I hope that’s the case.

He was clearly told he could go this window (his goal celebration at McDiarmid was a goodbye) so we should have been working on his replacement there & then

Cheers Tony & the ‘recruitment team’

Re: January Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Scott burns saying dons have turned down loan offers for marley Watkins. Holy shit

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: January Transfer Deadline Day Thread

“United will still keep an active eye on the out-of-contract market for a striker.

Liam Fox still wants to strengthen his squad after letting Tony Watt join St Mirren on-loan for the campaign.”

From Scott burns article, we surely haven’t let our top scorer leave without having a replacement lined up ready to go for our massive match tomorrow night ?

Fox and ashgar should be prepared for the fall out from this if we get beat tomorrow and Saturday, will turn toxic.

Re: January Transfer Deadline Day Thread

What a disgrace this is.

Quick reminder 4 individuals take a wage out of the club with their main remit being player recruitment.

Tony Asghar, David Byrne, John Kavanagh and Sean McGhee.

Why are we paying these individuals if we sign no-one? Time for the fans to wake up to this gravy train pish.

Re: January Transfer Deadline Day Thread

I cannot believe we've not brought in a striker. What the actual fuck.

Gambling now on finding an out of contract player who probably won't even be match fit.

Re: January Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Can’t actually believe what’s unfolded today

We have been told that the recruitment team has been very busy this month, we were told by Liam Fox that the squad would be stronger at the end of January.  We have put loads of players out on loan. We have today let one of only two senior strikers go on loan to a direct rival (and are no doubt paying a chunk of his wages).  We have not signed a replacement.  We have signed a 19 year old centre back who has never played a senior league match from Huddersfield.

Completely and utterly unacceptable and an insult to the fans.

Burns saying that once the Huddersfield B team boy signs we are done for the night.

Re: January Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Lost for words

Cannot believe what has happened this month

Now going to have to pay over the odds for a striker who will now know we are absolutely desperate for a number 9

ASGHAR OUT.

Re: January Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Genuinely surprised that people are so surprised.  Our Director of Everything is a charlatan and if not stopped will kill our club dead.  The only way to get rid of him is to stop the cash to the club and boycott Tannadice.  Otherwise the owner will continue to believe the fairy tales that he is being told.

Mr Ogren, can we try to achieve one thing this window?  The defenestration of the fat joker.

Re: January Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Feel sorry on the boy we've brought in. Essentially punting our season on the back of a 19 year old, some amount of pressure. Ridiculous.

Its Rory McLeod I feel sorry for. If Fletcher is injured then our only striker is 16 years old, while we are in a relegation battle.  A ridiculous amount of pressure to put on him

Seeing the club spin this as a positive should  be fun.

Asghar out.

Re: January Transfer Deadline Day Thread

I'm looking for positives.

1. We didn't sign Marley Watkins.

That's all I've got.

Over to you Tony.

Or just sign a 19 year old on loan with virtually zero first team football played in his career.

Whatever.

Time to have faith in the players already here. Let's hope they prove a point to everyone tonight and beat Kilmarnock

I hope not. One of the reasons Watt was punted out on loan was because of his issues in the dressing room. Lafferty would be equally as bad if not worse.

Much like his rotund idol, the boy just doesn't get it.  Beginning to feel sorry for him actually.

Not picking on you Tek, but these two posts just highlight the problem with Dundee United.  Most people knew (including you) that the first post would not be delivered but quietly hoped it would.  The truth is we all (bar one or two with their heads in the sand) know that Asghar is not fit for running the length of himself never mind running a football club.  If we continue with that quiet acceptance of failure then that's what Ogren is going to deliver us until he decides enough is enough and we go down the tubes.  People need to see our existence (as we know it) is  precarious and unless we do everything to convince Ogren that he is backing the wrong donkey we run the risk of having no club to support.  Ogren could be so good for our club and us for him, but Tony is simply not fit to deliver what the boss and the fans want.  Let's get that message out and let Ogren know it is by far the majority view.
