Which team to take on Rangers on Sunday?
Be massive for us if Fletcher and McGrath are both fit to return and play.

As always in any game against this mob, the effort must be 150%.

We're more than good enough to win the game, especially after the amazing work Foxy and his coaching team have done during the world cup break. We look like the fourth best team in the league now.
Realistically, however, Rangers aren't easily beaten. I think a 2-2 draw is an achievable and satisfactory result.

Seems to be a bit of talk that Rory McLeod is starting on Sunday.
I'd be surprised tbh.

That would be a big call, he is a talented lad and did will as a sub against Celtic last season, however it feels too early.
One possible explanation is that Fletcher is still out, and Watt is talking to Salford, so we need some kind of target man to be able to from back to front easily.

Well Eh winna be joining ye at the match the day. Still in bed no weel. Ken the gehm is on Sky-high, so might manage to see some oe it.
Hope we nail this shower.

Pathetic 2nd half totally undone a good 1st half.

This. Even taking away the penalties we should have had that was a disgrace and the buck has to stop with Fox.

Shit managers only know one thing and it’s defensive football. Fox way out his depth. We might stay up but we will never win anything or be successful under him.

Unfortunately we were beaten by the better team. I've seen better The Rangers teams but they are still a couple of levels above Utd.
No need to throw the toys out of the pram and start abusing the manager.
Fox has improved what was a team in freefall when he took over.

Must say I was disappointed in the fans today. Was like a morgue even in the first half when we were playing well.
What chance do the players have if the fans can't be bothered supporting the team vocally.

You really know how to endear yourself don't you?

Disappointing, thats what that was today.
It's a bit of a back handed compliment though considering that I felt we could have taken something today and maybe reflects a definite improvement in performances of late.
A few too many just not at the races in particular in the second half.
Levitt, Middleton, Sibbald all just seemed to freeze and it looked like they lacked both desire and composure on the ball.
I'm not quite sure what is it with Middleton, there a player in there no doubt however he just doesn't seem to link up with Fletcher too well imo. Countless times Fletcher is far too isolated and the young guy just seems to be on his back heels. Not overly critical of him it's just i think he is capable of more.
I thought the keeper, Edwards, Smith, McMann were all decent again, hopefully we can build on them.
Overall just a bit gutted and hopefully the players are feeling that way too as its a wasted opportunity.
Need to be stronger, fitter and hungrier to beat them.
Finally what a fuckin horrible lot there fans really are, the absolute scum of Scottish society.

Equally disappointed. Efter the 2nd goal went in, thought we were gonna get eff all fae the gehm. We jist didna test their keeper enough.
Agree we CCX2 2010. The only benefit oe watching it on Skyhigh was that Eh was able to mute the sound on the TV and no hae to listen the m0ngs singing thir sh1te.

Good first half and then fell right out of it. Gave them far too much time on the ball and couldn't seem to pass to a team mate when we did get the ball. Lazy substitutions from the manager and I'm still wondering why Ian hasn't been taken off in the last 2 games when his contribution has been minimal.

My young lad is now a teenager now Bill and trying to explain to him today why songs about an old Scottish manager who died in 1985 and paramilitary organisation that folded in 1998 are relevant to game in 2023 takes some doing.
I just summarised them as horrible cunts and he seemed to get it.

Good first half, and a poor second half.
While fox is doing my head in by constantly subbing on Djoum at around the 65th minute every other week is getting a bit annoying, I do feel there is a massive lack of options to change the game on our bench.
Graham - Defender
Djoum - has never impressed thus far.
Macleod - not seen much of him, usually given bit part appearances in games we've already well lost, too young for anyone to expect him to change a game.
Meekison - See above, but has had a few more opportunities and never really impressed.
Mulgrew - Aging defender
Niskanen - Never showed much his entire time here.
Sadat - See above.
Watt - Blows hot and cold.
Not exactly a treasure trove of a bench to pick from and i'm concerned we're a week in to January and there's not been any movement.

You really know how to endear yourself don't you?My opinion is that AU (whoever he might be) makes a valid point. And isn't afraid to make it.
Aye OK. Plenty of our fans spend a fortune supporting this team, packing out opposition stands and singing their hearts out only to be let down more often than not by our players. AU is an attention seeker and a fucking wind up merchant.

Fletcher starting too look like a real target man. What a frustration it is therefore to see him sooo isolated in every match. He wins the ball and there's no-one near him half the time. We're wasting his talents.
Imagine him playing alongside a Johnny Russell type or a Noel Hunt.
Folk keep saying we need X, Y and Z in January, but strangely few of our fans cite a Striker as a priority. It absolutely is.
We let our main source of goals the past 2 years leave for nothing at the start of the season (Nicky Clark), and if rumours are to be believed Tony Watt's departure is imminent.
That leaves an ageing Steven Fletcher, a kid in wee Rory, and a lad who seemingly isn't ready (Anaku) going by his severe lack of minutes. Middleton for me isn't a forward and is more a winger type.
We badly need at least one Striker. Two if McLeod goes also.

Firstly, it's a strange feeling that I'm being so critical of a defeat to that mob. But that's testament to the fight and decent results of late.
First half I thought we were very good, held our shape well and we never in any real danger. Too many loose passes though, a couple of times we were nearly caught out (both to Sakala I think. Fletcher unlucky with his chance and I couldn't see the hand ball from the ETL but watching replays, it 100% would have been given the other way. Probably an argument that they could have had one but think the boy Colak was pulling at McManns shirt at same time.
Sibbald looks phucked towards the end of the half and his puss was brighter than his top. At the time I wanted him replaced at HT for Djoum.....
God knows what was said at Half Time but we looked like Jack Ross' team when we come out. Boy beside me reckons we changed formation but i couldn't really see it. Far too many players didn't get back into it and their goal was always coming.
As soon as the first one went in, changes should have been made but they obviously weren't and before we know it, it's 2 and the games all but over.
The rest of the game was a bit of a non event but every time they broke forward I was expecting a goal.
Our subs were an absolute waste of time. 2 minutes after Djoum come on I had a word with myself for wanting him on at H/T. He has ability but he's just not with it and doesn't show any signs of getting to the fitness level that we need. Meekison...or even dare I say Niskanen with a change to midfield would have at least gave us options
Macloed for Middleton I think was a decent change. What the actual phuck was the point in bringing Tony Watt on for though. See if he's leaving, then it's a joke that he was put on before Anaku (who could do with a run out and actually done well at Ibrox) and if he's not leaving, then he really should because that is up there with the most lazy, pathetic, uninterested cameos I have seen in 30 years+ of watching Utd.
I left as soon as the board went up. I don't like leaving early but I was pissed right off and couldn't stand to be there to hear/see that lot celebrating again.
Which brings me to them...without a doubt the absolute worst, scumiest, horrible set of fans in the sport. I can't even put into words how much i dislike them. Miniature bottles getting thrown down to the ETL when they scored, a cup got threw at Fox as well (anyone else see that?) and grown men acting like phucking 10 year olds in the JK Corner. And don't get me started on that Drum. United need to sort that shite out when it comes to the old firm.

Never like to see us beat and this is no exception. However, it is one of the gruesome twosome who have so heavily doped the Scottish game, anything against them is merely a bonus and not season defining.
On the whole, we looked strong and on the basis of the first half, had a good few chances that on another day, could have had a different outcome.
Second half, rangers came out the traps strong and we had no answer. I guess them changing colas for morelos changed their front line and made a mess of our plans. Once we stabolised, the game was over.
We didn't have enough on the bench to make any real change. Sibbald/djoum was a straight swap. He wasn't awful but wasn't changing the game.
I'm not going to go too bananas on a reasonably tight less to the of.
For those who want us to be more attacking v the old firm, I'd draw your attention to the 9-0 game. A lack of shape and suitable defending saw us ripped apart and I'd rather never witness 0-9 at Tannadice ever again.
We will be fine. Roll on Tuesday hibs game. Another tough one but not impossible to get a result

Much as it depresses me, the main aim of yesterday was not to ship too many goals. If we fluked a draw or even more a win then happy days.
If we can get a result (draw or win) at Easter Road then job done - kept the goal difference significantly less than County and Killie. We do really need 4 points out of the next 2 games though and that does look doable.
