Utd v Hearts - 24/12/22 (2PM)

Christmas Eve is not a date that Utd have played frequently on over the course of our history. Indeed we have played only 10 times on this day over the course of our 113 year history, and only ONCE in the Scottish Premiership (a 3-1 home win vs Hibs in 2011).

A huge few days for the club coming up with two home fixtures in 4 days against Hearts and County. But one at a time.

High time we gave a Hearts side a going over at Tannadice, is it not?

Very low key build-up to our first home game in 6 weeks. Zero chat about it.

Is everyone scunnered, expecting another Hearts defeat, or worst, just apathetic about it and us?

Re: Utd v Hearts - 24/12/22 (2PM)

A bit of both mixed in with frustration.

I think tomorrow Fletcher will be up top and s Mulgrew influenced set up of 5-4-1.

On a brighter note ive a sneaky wee feeling that we might get something from tomorrow.

This game will be more about what we do when we don't have the ball. If we sit back and let them pass it around we lose.
Based on what I've seen so far this season unfortunately  I see a 0-1 defeat.

Read somewhere Fletcher had done his Achilles. Not sure how true so take with a pinch of salt.

That's a disaster if true, he probably the only summer signing to have been decent.

Heard that we won't be hard to deal with if anyone wants Harkes and Pawlett.

Re: Utd v Hearts - 24/12/22 (2PM)

A seekener of a result for a very good performance.

Didna think Herts were great. Sure we had mair shots on target than them.

And what were these Lochee Herts pr1cks in the coarner singjng aboot "Dundee goin doon" Mibbee its thir 1st time day trip oot oe the North West frontier inta Dundee, but ye would think they would get the Team name right. Mibbee Eh misheard them, bit they were just a bunch oe wee pr1cks anyweh.

VARied controversy the day. Went in oor favour for oor 1st goal, but then against us for the Gordon/Fletcher collision. Looked to me like Gordon came oot we baeth knees inta Fletcher. Is it any wonder hes got a bust leg.
Rookie Ref gees a Pen then what? VAR - Fletcher affside?
Still dangerous play tho IMO. His visit to the Fracture clinic is of his own making Eh'm afraid.

Ref was a bit oe a clown. Ross the lino should be gee-in his wages to charity. Canna make up his mind on politics or the pitch.

Unlucky to drap twa points. Eh missed the Shankland penalty. Some fowk say he dehved, some fowk say he was grabbed. As always he goes doon the middle. If Birighitti had bed still, he was stoppin it.

If we could play like that for fae now on, we could get oot oe this shithole we're in. Startin Wednesday.

MOTM for me Fletch.

And Oh Eh. Thanks to ah you lads fir yer comments. Arabest for Christmas. Hope yiz ah hae a good ane.

Probably a draw was a fair result over the 104 minutes.
Our better players played well Fletcher, Levitt & Behich while our poorer players Harkes & Freeman had no Impact on the game at all.
Ref managed IMO to get all 3 penalty decisions wrong.

You heard right Billy. Tubes.

100% agree with you, Gordon tries to do Fletch. If he just came out normally he has no need for fresh legs.

The issue with the ref is he isn’t a rookie and he is always terrible although today was the worst he’s been.

Thought Shanks went down way too easily and even Neilson said the same so that tells you all you need to know.

Re: Utd v Hearts - 24/12/22 (2PM)

We show that work ethic and we will be fine, thought Fletcher set the tone from the first minute. Him a Middleton linked up well, I also thought for the first time that Djoum looked decent.

We do need to have someone parked right in front of the back 3 to tighten up a bit, at times you could drive a bus through the middle of our team.

Levitt is playing far too deep for me, we need him further up the pitch. He played a couple of super passes today and scored a cracker but he either needs to be a bit more ruthless when defending or we get someone else in the to do it and push him further up.

Couple of other points, thought the fans showed our class again with Gordon. Fingers crossed for the big guy and hopefully it's not as bad as it looks.

And finally VAR, if that's what it's about they can shove it. Sitting there nae idea what's going on and I was catiuous about celebrating our first goal. That said the wee guy running about with Massive Forehead blowing a whistle was as bad as I have ever seen. The wee dick was absolutely miles out his depth, you would be here all day listing his errors.

Onwards and upwards now.

Merry Christmas to all Arabs.

For what it is worth I think we will stay up after today, there is no way we can do down with this team, I honestly don’t believe it

Get mulgrew back in the team.

Re: Utd v Hearts - 24/12/22 (2PM)

Only seen the Sportscene highlights earlier on, but i liked what i seen from today's performance.

Some really nice passing and two good goals. Very unlucky with the penalty denied us and Hearts pen was very soft too.

Good to see Birighitti have a solid game. I hope he can use that as a springboard.

Feeling optimistic we will beat County on Wednesday now. Our home form is starting to look pretty decent.
