The Damned United

One of my favourite books and films.

Poor Jack Ross must have felt he had stepped into Brian Clough's shoes at Leeds United in the 70s these past few weeks.

This scene in particular galling, where the Leeds players hold a meeting behind Clough's back and get him sacked by bad mouthing him to his superiors at the club.

Whether we see Jack Ross and Tam Courts head to head in a heated live t.v. showdown however, remains to be seen.

Poor Jack Ross? Don't you mean very poor Jack Ross?  This absolute insistence on blaming the sporting director but absolving the man who has turned a hard to beat team into an absolute laughing stock is ridiculous. If he can't man manage a few disgruntled players then what the fuck was he getting the big bucks for?

Did Cloughs team get absolutely wellied by every cunt too?

The similarities are striking. I don't think the Jack Ross era will ever be made into a movie, but it is remarkable how quickly things can unravel if the players don't like the new boss.

I wonder if Jack said "Fine, it'll cost you twenty five grand" when he was told his time was up

Why?

Because it was clearly a lighthearted post/thread and you're more often than not on the offensive.

Just derails what can be an otherwise interesting thread.

'I'm Brian Howard Clough' is almost certainly poetic licence on the screen writers part.

But it's a superb line.

More often than not on the offensive? Shite!

Just utterly pissed off with the situation right now though. Jack Ross has been an unmitigated disaster and is getting too much support from some sections in my opinion.

It's not shite really though is it?

You're often arguing with folk on here. On the odd occasion i look into Mad i've noticed you are the same on there.

And i recall you admitting yourself you had to leave Eastfootball.

Look that's all fine. Post whatever you like. It's a free country.

But when it's clearly a light hearted thread, can you not just 'read the room' as the young folk say?

Nope that's just you believing all the hype. Find me one recent argument to back up what you're trying to say. Is it OK that I'm pissed off with the way things are?  I've not been constantly beating the Tony Asghar drum like yourself and others but I do absolutely blame the manager for the recent debacle, as is being borne out tonight incidentally. Perhaps I picked the wrong thread but hey, I don't need telling to take a break though. Its the internet, it's free to comment on.

Hype, hahaha. What you on about?

Find a recent argument? Well about twenty minutes before your original reply to myself on this thread you were pulling up Shakey on here for daring to use the term 'Poison chalice' in regards to the Utd Managers position.

Don't believe the hype though

So I'm not allowed to oppose an opinion? Hardly an argument now was it? Is there any point to this board then? You spin it how you like mate but if you want to chase away the few posters left on here then carry on.

You can say anything you want on here as long as it is negative and you blame it on Tony.

You're allowed to post whatever you want, and you do.

Often.

Stop being so dramatic.

Hi, Nomad.

You have a good few posts on here.

You must be a negative, anti-Asghar Utd fan.

Yes?

Tremendous film. I wonder if Billy Bremner was actually as much of a little c#nt in real life.

*a shame this thread disintegrated into a petty squabble. Was wondering how long it would take on this board.
