How do we expect Fletcher and co to have any sort of service, the boys at club aren’t good enough imo
Spot-on.
We need creativity. From the wings and central.
We also need another Striker.

I see why it’s the priority now.

Jck Ross thinks we need 4 outfield players and a keeper 🤔
That's a fair change... surely its going ti happen before he's shouting in the press about it?

I would think so. If he was sending a shot across the bows of Asghar and Ogren it would be a significant change in approach from Courts who toed the party line to the letter. I do think Ross is getting impatient with the pantomime that occurs when we are trying to sign players at United. What stood out for me yesterday was that Sibbald and Harkes, both of whom joined up a few weeks after the rest of the squad, looked well off the pace. Why? Because they'd not had a full/proper pre season. It just underlined the importance of getting new players in as quickly as possible to get them fit and upto speed tactically.
The fact that the manager is saying we need another 4 players in (plus the goalie who has not arrived yet either) 2 weeks before our season starts and 2.5 weeks before Europe is ridiculous. If our 'recruitment department' operates as it's own entity outwith the head coach, should it have mattered whether Tam Courts or Jack Ross is in charge? Surely targets would have been identified and gone for months ago? Unless JR has seen their list of targets and said he didn't fancy them and asked for changes as a condition of him taking the job????

Jr has his own style of play - so I guess we need players to fit that system rather than courts...however, you'd hope that some of them would fit both.
I'd hope that Jr would have a say too. I'd guess if we are taking a long time, either we are not offering superstar wages (which I'm OK with) or we are looking at good players and not just average.
Time is ticking though...I wonder if the 2 Ugandan boys will make an appearance soon?

Completely agree with you.
We talk about players having to be the correct profile, so these should have been identified a good while back. Unless JRs has came in and binned the quiz champion list which would not surprise me going by the squad that Ross has taken over.
I really hope that we give Jack Ross the time and support required and not point any fingers at him if things go wrong at the start of the season.
We are pinning our hopes on an Australian keeper quickly settling in and some creativity coming through the door in the coming days. Hopefully these guys hit the ground running whoever they may be.

feel we are always playing catch up. I get the quality over quantity thing but any new signings are going to struggle for fitness for the euro matches and the killie matches

I'm as positive a Utd fan as you're likely to find. Would say yesterday was underwhelming. Some decent flashes. But overall I'd say I was disappointed that I saw nothing to suggest that there was a new manager in charge. Looked like the same boring, pedestrian football we watched for a fair chunk of last season.
Still time for us to recruit and improve though, thankfully.

BBC Scotland saying Shankland close to signing for Hearts. I didn't think it could happen with Beerschot owing us money for the transfer still.

Yea that's the figure I heard, possibly a sell on fee as well but not sure, might be nonsense too.

Quite the patronising post there.
Tell me friend. Where are you in the World currently, whilst you judge your fellow Utd supporters on here in such condescending tones?

I'm still relaxed, kind of.
In an ideal world we would've had all our business done by now, all the squad together and ready to go.
But the change of manager changes everything, I'm quite happy if Ross has came in, looked at the list the recruitment team would've been working on (Tam's list) and decides it wasn't identifying the right positions or the right quality of players (we've known for years where our deficiencies are and multiple managers haven't addressed then)
He's had to assess the squad, then work out how and where we improve it, without breaking the bank.
So here we are, If we've not got the keeper in place and a ball winning midfielder at least by the time the league kicks off then we're gonna struggle to hit the ground running, i'm sure the club are working hard, but the upshot is, that if we don't get it done sooner than later, the potential to go beyond a round or two in Europe where the club make a decent wedge is gone.
Hopefully this week will see some bodies in the door.

I'm sure if we give JR time he will get it sorted but it's the one thing we are short off ( well not if you include all the players we know we need to improve 😀) before the season kicks off and Europe but it is a wee bit difficult to maitain positivity when after 2 friendlies we see the same old problems the team has creating chances that we've seen for the last couple of seasons.
Like many are saying hopefully some incoming this week.

Meet County's new striker, responsible for this jaw-dropping miss -
At least we missed out on this guy 🤣🤣

Looks like Shankland to Hearts is almost done. Will be horrible to see him play against us again.

Once he pulls on their shirt he's dead to me anyway and I will be willing him to fail. Hopefully we sign a pacy striker instead and Tony Watt can add goals to his performances.

Agreed. Thoughts on booing him? Not for me. Won't exactly be clapping him but will just stay neutral. Can't forget that 19/20 season and how important he was to us finally getting out of that shithole of a league.

Agree with most of this. However I don't think regardless of a few signings we have any chance of going past 1 or 2 rounds in Europe.
It's all about making a good enough start in the league to stay away from the bottom.

A favourable draw and you never know, but it's best to be in a position where we're at least ready to give it a go.

Central Coast Mariners confirming in a club statement that they have sold Mark Birrighitti to Utd for an 'undisclosed fee'.
Hopefully we have him over here to train with the squad later this week.
