I honestly hate the way the World is going.
This isn't just aimed at Utd btw, but it seems these days everything is aimed at the convenience of the company or business, rather than the consumer.

Tbh Tek I hardly ever use cash at all myself these days but can understand that it's an inconvenience to others. Rather a cashless Tannadice then cashstrapped Dens though 😂

A good move by the club to get in ahead of the curve. I've not had cash in my pocket for over a year, it's the future.
Hopefully everyone reads the headline carefully ' No cash at Tannadice' carefully before piling in with the pre prepared I telt you about Ashgar posts.

Cashless is the way of the world now tbh. Canna mind the last time I used cash. Even taxis are taking card now.

I always thought for years football clubs went too far in the other direction with an insistence on cash, for the likes of turnstiles and food stalls. Many an away game was spent scrambling around for an ATM, but the advent of e-tickets seems to have ended that, in the main.
As regards Cashless Tannadice, there will be those resistant to change, but from a purely business point of view (and I to take Tek's point, this is for the benefit of the business primarily) it will save the club a lot of money and make accounting easier.
Studies have shown that contactless payments are widely used by all age ranges, and I would be surprised if anyone is excluded. Hopefully an impact assessment has taken place though, to make sure none of our vulnerable or elderly fans are missing out.

The issue will be for kids who might not yet be trusted with a bank card.

Kids eat too many pies anyway, they can bring a healthy snack instead 😋

They'll just use their phones! I actually don't think this is an age thing (although some of the older boys will have to get into the 21st century). The bigger issue is that it will exclude those that don't necessarily have a bank account or are able to give their kids access to one (i.e. those in poverty). Now I think the pricing at football probably excludes most of these people anyway (which is another story) but if you have £30 quid in your pocket and you fancy blowing it at the football then I think we still need to give people that option. Otherwise the sport really is just ignoring its original fanbase. Presumably having one turnstile that takes cash wouldn't be that much of a hardship for the club. At least give that option for a season and see if there is a demand.

Earlier this week in Canada, for a period of more than 24 hours, all electronic payment options were down. Don't know if it was a cyber attack, but if you didn't have cash, you couldn't pay for anything.
Bit of a disaster if similar happened in Scotland prior to a big home game with a large travelling support.
Or if the power goes down in our street/area?
Say it's April/May and the game would require no floodlights, or no internal stadium lights.
Abandoned because of how we take transactions? Seems backward to me.
