You need to learn how to separate professional life from personal life. In fact, is it a requirement that team mates have to be buddies? Love thy neighbour? I'm afraid human nature doesn't work that way. Players are workmates, different people with different values, coming together to perform a specific job.

I really don't think you can compare a dressing room to other work environments tbh. They need to be a team, and they need to be able to trust each other. If you don't think team spirit is important then I'm sorry but through your long life you haven't learned all that much about football

Work colleagues, team mates, same difference. Each performing for pay. Learn to read, I never said it was OK, I am not supporting Butcher. I just dislike that people are ganging up on him to the detriment of the team. So don't call me a dick! I had an idea that personal abuse would soon enter the conversation. And sure enough.....

Surely you need to also learn to read? You said you're not supporting Butcher in which case he didn't call you a dick 😂😂

Well, I really don't regard football as the most important thing in life, despite having followed it (and United) since the age of seven, 78 years ago. But I have observed human nature over the years and have a pretty good knowledge of what its about. OK, I have vascular dementia, but I'm not totally senile. Not yet, anyway....

Butcher should be binned for acting like a Dick to one of his team mates.
End of story.

I also don't regard football as the most important thing in life, I'd think that's the case with most people too. I'd rather we had a harmonious dressing room though, it will translate on the pitch.

That wasn't your implication. You obviously thought I was supporting him.

So tell it to those who castigate Butcher.

Why? He fucked a teamates girlfriend, he's rightly castigated by the rest of the team, lucky he's not been filled in. Really not getting your logic on this one? Should they all be rallying around the guilty party or something?

It's Sunday evening mate, nothing likely to be happening until the morning I'd say. In the meantime we were discussing whether or not Butcher should be retained which in fairness is a related subject.

We shouldn’t really be trying to sign ‘squad players’
We should be signing quality that makes some of last seasons XI the new ‘squad players’

Last seasons 11 did OK though I'd say. If we are still aiming to bring in McGrath then I'm OK with the signing of Sibbald too. We do need squad depth and we had a lot of youngsters on the bench last season, so an experienced player like him won't do us any harm.

Oh so it's not reading then, just assumptions.
Cool, have a good night old timer, no big deal and none of us needs to fall out FTD!

Suspect it's the other thing Butcher was 'alleged' to have done that has put his team mates off him, far moreso than the rumour of having a carry on with Benji's missus.

So you waste some more to tell us about it? Anyway, do you really expect transfer news at this hour on a Sunday evening?

Quite possibly mate, I heard the rumours at the time and it's not something that can be condoned. I liked Butcher as a player but no player is bigger than Dundee United as far as I'm concerned.

Indeed, I have no intention of falling out with a team mate. And yes, the Dee are well fucked.....
