New signing? Or is that just greedy?
Looking forward to our Summer activity starting NOW 👇

Weird article in the Record this morning re Harkes - saying Morecambe want him, and has a year left on his contract.
Has he signed this year extension, Morecambe have then came in for him and offered a fee so United are prepared to let him go now? Maybe Ross doesn't want him?

Very weird indeed.

I’m hoping Shankland is behind the video camera again when unveiling a new player.

Wonder if the badge change has anything to to with outdated Heraldry law in Scotland or if its to reflect a century since the name change to United from Dundee Hibs in 1923.
On the subject of Heraldry law and Scottish football crests I found this article from 2016.

I believe that was the reason we changed the badge to the current design in 1993.

The papers said yesterday a lower offer than 500K asked by the Belgian team may be accepted after the rest is made up in add ons etc.
Not a chance we would pay 350K or whatever sadly. Hearts have the guaranteed 2.8 million from the UCL groups.

Apart from hating the fact he'll end up with those cunts, this lower offer shite will mean we get next to fuck all from the sell on. Come to think of it do they not still owe us money?

That's the new badge revealed! Only very subtle differences really.

Underwhelmed with the badge changes. Not clear how the costs associated with the 'new' badge are going to be recouped.
For instance, if I was onsidering going to hospo, what the badge looks like won't make me go or not. Equally, not sure a sponsor will come in and think - the letters are scrunched together - sign me up.
Meh - guess I'm in a general malaise with all things united. A manager, a couple of exciting signings and a tidy new set of strips and I'll be happy enough, i suppose

Have seen multiple mentions of how much it costs? Don't understand this thinking. So we shouldn't look to modernise the brand of the club because of how much it might cost? What?

Imo people concern themselves too much with the clubs finances whilst also hammering the clubs actions at every opportunity. Year on year improvement seems to make no difference to some folk, they are more concerned with how many laptops the club owns and Tony Asghar's demeanour. That said, the new badge is hardly discernable from the old one.

Well hopefully you aren't putting me in that category....
With regards to the cost - I've no idea what the costs are but they are using a company to completely rebrand when the actual changes a minimal. The rebounding of Tannadice gussie and St Andrews will cost thousands on top of the cost of the study etc
So far we've got a new badge but no new manager and although these things aren't mutually exclusive, I'd be far more happier to see the footballing side getting sorted.
As stated in my previous message, it's probably down to a malaise with the club. Lost a manager, lost a young prospect to a rival for free (potentially) and v little positives.
If you can't question things on a message board though, I'm not sure where you are meant to?

No, not at all. It's just a bit of a theme across several forums tbh and not directed towards anyone in particular.

I get why they've felt the need to modernise the badge, it was 30 years old. But can the club maybe do something like this without making fools of themselves. All the stuff about inconsistent font and clumsy negative space just opens us up for ridicule.

Don’t have a clue mate but i never actually thought about the sell on % till there. Oh well, we’re used to getting fuck all from them. Still waiting on the Noel Hunt money.

no problem with an upgrade of the badge but would rather have had a new manager announced or some signings at this time of year. kind of where my priorities lie
