Re: English friendlies in July

Won’t make the away games but will be at Sunderland game.  Assume we’ll have a couple other games in Scotland

Aren’t they involved in talks with Seigrist? Is he not signing perhaps or am I stretching it a bit?

They are.

So are Blackpool supposedly.

No offence to either but thought he'd leave us for better than either.

Re: English friendlies in July

Hopefully the club will be in a position to confirm these friendly games soon to give us as much time to book. I think they will be great for the whole club and one the fans will defo enjoy.

On the Benji issue, maybe it’s the right time for him to move on and football wise, what a high to go out on. From a personal side though and this is pure hearsay but maybe he just wants to get away from the situation which has developed over the last wee while.

Hopefully Utd confirm these this week.

Folk need to plan at this time of year (round holidays etc).

Agreed, sounds like we need to offload both 'participants' and get back to a happy squad.

Mibbees bit tin hat on here, but I'm not surprised at teams coming in for him. Think most teams would want a 6 ft plus keeper to at least attempt to come for a cross now and again.....

It is a weakness and I don't see that being trained out of him now.  However, if you already have a CH who dominates in the air then the shot stopping of Siegrist should be attractive.

A lot of goalkeeping coaches are now training keepers to stay on their line, as the modern footballs have so much swerve in them, it's the safer option.

Personally, I disagree, when a team is under pressure,  its brilliant to see a keeper come out and claim the ball.

Re: English friendlies in July

You could be right, I must be at an age when the goalie took everything in front of him out if in the 6 yard box.....

Hadnae heard that one, weird but no surprise.
But then dropping a man off a post is a mystery to me.
Import of foriegn goalkeepeers who lack the bravery, instinct and coaching likewise.
Gone are the days of Mackay and Davie.
Banks, Shilton, Clemence, Montgomery etc etc.
.... grumble grumble.

Got mine to, absolute shambles that the club still haven't announced that they are on sale.
