1) Did you want Mickey Mellon removed from his position as Utd Manager at the end of last season?

2) Are you saying Utd fans wouldn't have stepped up and saved the club?

FWIW, I'm happy Ogren invested in us. I am unhappy at who he has put in place to manage his investment. I suspect that I and Mr Ogren will ultimately be disappointed and that disappointment (and depth of it) will be accelerated (and deepened) by his choice of custodian.

1) I didn't have a strong opinion on it, he left by mutual consent according to reports. As a rule I'm generally not in favour of managers being sacked though.

2) I've no idea what United fans would or wouldn't have done. I do know that Rangers are a vastly larger club than United and their fans couldn't save them. I also know that it is unlikely United fans could have collectively invested £9 million.

I am also just a fan that wishes the club well. Whether you are linked to the club or not doesn't really bother me. However, if you continue to parrot the opinions (or imagined opinions) of the current custodians of the club without any level of critical assessment you may as well be linked to those custodians. In a way I kind of hope you are Tony as you reinforce my views of why we need shot of you, however, truth be told, I think Tony is probably more intelligent.

'Leaving by mutual consent' is just a nice way of saying we've tied him up on a nice little NDA so he'll not spill the beans on us. If you think Tony and Mellon had a nice little heart to heart and decided it was best in everyone's interest to part ways then you are either naive or deluded. He was sacked.

To be fair, I think you are right that United Fans wouldn't have invested £9M. Whilst I share Tek's ultimate goal for fan ownership I think that can only happen where a wealthy benefactor comes in and manages the transition (e.g. Budge). We don't appear to have one of them. Ogren and a fans' consortium were not the only option however. Also Rangers were a totally different scenario. As much as I dislike their fans, if left to them alone, we would still have a Rangers in the Premier League today of that there is no doubt.
